    Wilber Failures?

Nope, but I'll have one and some waiting for you.

    Wilber Failures?

They have a pretty good reputation as far as how they work, but they do fail unfortunetly. I've never had a stock shock blow out, so for all that money, I don't know why it failed, especially since I only had around 5-7k miles on it. I should see the shock back by trip time, but the old shock...

    Absolute Humiliation

Thank you my friend. I am looking forward to seeing you and all the other FJR crew. I'll introduce you to my baby brother when we get there.

    Absolute Humiliation

Well, don't feel too bad. Goldwing ain't a Silverwing and I read it'll do 0-60 in 3.8 seconds. Since I feel the need for speed, my Wing (with a camper tagging along behind) usually passes, not follows :assassin: Since this is LDR topic, only 30 days to my USA Four Corners run. Slo-mo Iron...

    After WFO...

Wow! Great roads, all and I've been on most all of them, except for California. It's been a long time since I was out there, but I'll be passing through CA in June or early July on the last leg of my 2007 USA Four Corners tour. We are very lucky, us that live out west. But then there are so...

Scratches on my 07 gas tank!!!

Fella at the 05 Iron Butt Rally had his entire gas tank covered with black electrical tape (IIRC, it was an FJR). Maybe he was just being prepared or maybe just trying to cover up some gay blue. I dropped a wrench on my tank after I had the bike for a couple of months. I tried Colorite paint...

    First FJR sold in USA

I outgrew the Silver Streak so my skinny brother will be riding it. I'll be on the larger titanium GL1800. If you see someone hanging around in the parking area with a brewski, it might be me or him or us :)

    First FJR sold in USA

But then many of us original waiters were members of the FJR Owners forum and the FJR Riders forum on Delphi. Maybe even the brown room. We were the original whiners :P "When's it gonna git here?"

What's in your little left hand cubbyhole ?

From what I've heard, that cubby just slows the bike down. Probably why the Liquid Silver model (sans cubby) is faster. Further proof is that my Wing has a cubby on each side and is a bit slower than the Silver Bullet (which is faster than subsequent models) Then again, maybe...

    First FJR sold in USA

I'm talking about the one that was shipped as 'parts', not the one that was turned into parts - OUCH! Hope I see your pretty red one in Park City...

    First FJR sold in USA

I got mine (#276) delivered on July 31st, 2002. Picked it up the next day. I believe that first one in the U.S. was a red one, wasn't it?

Suspension info / seminar at WFO?

I don't think that Klaus (the Wilbers guy) will be able to make it. I'm sending my shock in for a rebuild and a hopefully stronger spring this week and I suspect that he will still be working on my rebuild

    OFFICIAL LAUNCH: WFO-6 Web site!

You weren't the one (clown) who screwed up the 'Players List', now were you? Of course I may have been the clown responsible. I entered my data, probably the same time as you and I'm still waitin for the magic balloon to rise over Denver with my name on it  IMHO, a database like...

    Oooooooo, that smell..........

I bought a new GL1800 from a dealer here in Denver. They had it shipped here from CA in a crate. Put it together and cleaned it up real nice, but after several washings the gooey stuff was seeping out of cracks and crannies. They said it was cosmoline. Whatever it was, it was messy. And...

    Oooooooo, that smell..........

Cosmoline - It'll go away or you can wash it off. I wouldn't be taking off 'foam' or you will probably be experiencing more heat. That's what the foam is there for, unless it's on something really hot, like the pipes. I added foam on my 03 to reduce the heat.

    6th gear?

You could take the punkin out of a 1996-1999 Royal Star and put it on the FJR. Nobody's done it that I know of, but we used to swap with VMaxes. Other than that, I believe the 06/07 are geared higher than the 03-05 FJRs. Never could understand why anyone would want a 6th gear.
