135 lb. female on an FJR?

Pretty much agree with your comment and piccie. Lot's of BIG BOYS here have dropped their FJRs so I'm thinking it's more about finess than upper body strength or height, whatever. Of course them what gots long shanks have a distinct advantage over vertically challenged, but you still need...

Is the FJR right for me?

I rode mine for 5 years and loved it. Sold it, but I miss it. It was a good touring bike and fun up in the mountains. Maybe I'll get another one day. p.s. Don't feel bad about the Sporty. A rider took 3rd place in the 2007 Iron Butt Rally on one.

It's a bit late for me anyways  I've been sick with crud for about a week and missed some work, so not a real good idea to jerk the boss's tail. But I did read that it was filling up - think there were about 158 riders registered and I thought I saw 9/9 as the deadline. If I would...

Signed up for the forum last year and listed as Future Member status. I went to the suggested thread and requested Ira change my status. Thanks to both of you for the tip.

I had a great time following Kaitsdad around for close to 1k miles at the NAFO. Already looking forward to knocking some more Iron Butt miles next year. Too late for the LOE 1k, which looked to be a real hoot. I'm just a bit curious about something. About 1/2 of the NAFO IB riders were...

I got a hummer on my NAFO SS1k

Dang! I guess you could call that a hummer bummer.

    A Traitor at NAFO

Strictly lo-key, I'll be stopping by around 3:30 A.M. Friday. Something about losing a cherry  Or attempting to. Ya' never know, maybe the old FJR #276 will make a showing...

FYI, Performance does NOT install tires, but they do have a list of shops close by that do.

    NAFO 1K and 1.5K RIDES!

I had Big Lots make me one in a nice, tasteful white. They were very reasonable in their fee. And it doesn't even have 'Holiday Inn' embroidered on it. I guess it's up to me to make it tasteless...

    NAFO 1K and 1.5K RIDES!

Sounds good. I looked around a saw most peeps my generation now got short hair, so I joined the crowd. No more nasty surprises. Every day is a bad hair day - for what's left of it :) Saw DC on the Sunday show a couple of weeks ago. I can't remember if he had a lot of hair, but looked like...

    NAFO 1K and 1.5K RIDES!

I take it we needn't put a number on the towel. I didn't see any. Just some embarassingly obnoxious reference to the poor soul who will be flying this flag  Hal, since I have a soft spot in my heart for whores, I will try to be easy on you, as I'm sure you will reciprocate in like...

    NAFO 1K and 1.5K RIDES!

Wrong, Bucko! I'm taking the gigantic Barcalounger. If I need a nap, I can just lay on the Wing-o-Baggo. And the Strom is not one of those sissy Wee wannabees. It's the fire breathin' lumpy one liter version. Wee's BIG BRO, VEE. I know from experience the falling down thing sucks. The...

    NAFO 1K and 1.5K RIDES!

I feel your pain....actually my pain, as I did one of those ho-hum, *******, top heavy, overloaded maneuvers a couple of weeks back. Similar injuries, not to mention to my ego/dignity, but I was on the gravel road between Dawson City, Yukon and Chicken Alaska when the bike, for no reason at...

You lucky dog! I have to come all the way from Eastlake - twice as far!

    6th gear?

I think the FJR (or at least my faster '03) is geared just right. On the other hand the 6th gear on the VEE is not much good before 75 mph (don't know what that is in klicks). As far as mpg goes, I once had a gas guzzlin Royal Star. I was bucking a pretty strong wind in the Texas panhandle...
