I think the FJR (or at least my faster '03) is geared just right. On the other hand the 6th gear on the VEE is not much good before 75 mph (don't know what that is in klicks). As far as mpg goes, I once had a gas guzzlin Royal Star. I was bucking a pretty strong wind in the Texas panhandle...
