Help with the The Really, Definitely Completely Un-Authorized TBS

Tip o' the cap to you, sir. Wish I'd considered it. Will be checking this out. AVCC cable is slack to avoid idle adjust issues, final AVCC adjustment will be done after idle issue resolved. Valve adjustment consisted of removing material from intake shims, 3 - 4 thou to bring clearance to middle...

Help with the The Really, Definitely Completely Un-Authorized TBS

Yessir, this is what I'm calling the"adjuster". Very familiar with it, knob, flexible shaft, threads below the bellcrank on throttle shaft, contacts the same tang the CC cable is attached to. Is currently not in contact with the tang, throttle plates are resting on the set screw stops. Should be...

Help with the The Really, Definitely Completely Un-Authorized TBS

Ross, Rayzer, thanks, I'll try it again. Problem is, at 1 turn out with vacuum levels balanced can't adjust idle below 1300.Turning air screws in drops idle speed. With adjuster backed all the way down and air screws seated still can't get to below 1300. Rayzer, throttle cable has slack, throttle...

Help with the The Really, Definitely Completely Un-Authorized TBS

Fred, I will double check everything. Good idea on the fpr. B-H, using Morgan Carbtune Pro, no calibration required. Since 2 and 3 are in sync, 3 being the reference, by syncing 1 to 2 and 4 to 3 all should be good. I may have misspoke earlier, I meant 2 and 3 were good. With air screws...

Help with the The Really, Definitely Completely Un-Authorized TBS

Okay, now I'm getting worried. Two SOS's in a row. Buttoning everything up after many farkles and maintenance items such as: AVCC installation, CCT replacement, valve adjust, LED lighting - LR4's, Skene controller, USB port, Powerlet, Datel, Jack's harness, etc. Gonna check that TBS before all...

    Bubbly Master Cylinder

You sound like a smart man, dcarver, although I have heard others in this community express very different sentiments.

    Bubbly Master Cylinder

Update on the big brake bleed. I bled the banjo as suggested by Aasland, a little improvement. Pushed the pistons back into the calipers with the speed bleeders barely cracked, minute improvement. Cycled the ABS, bleed some more. Bungie brake lever overnight, cycle the lever, over 3 days and...

If You Could Reinvent The FJR What Would You Change?

Couldn't agree more. My FJR shares stable space with a very nice GenI FZ1. At 70 mph in dirty air the FZ1 bobbles around quite a bit but the Feej plows through unaffected. One of my favorite traits of this great machine. Don't need a 6th gear, don't need a bigger engine, suspension is finally...

    Bubbly Master Cylinder

I didn't even offer a penny for your thoughts but I will offer my thanks for responding to my post.I was only kidding about taking it to the dealer. Not gonna happen. Unlike Mr. Niehart, I've still got a little pride. I've got a few more tricks up my sleeve. I did install the speed bleeders...

    Bubbly Master Cylinder

Never!!! Thanks, I'll do it. Thanks! All good ideas. If I take it to a dealer to bleed the lines I'll never admit it, not even to myself.

    Bubbly Master Cylinder

I finally finished installing the Spiegler brake lines on my GenI ABS but can't seem to get a proper firm lever at the front. I used a Mity-Vac and speed bleeders for the initial fill, then just the speed bleeders pumping the master cylinder. I also used the bleeders conventionally ie: pump...

Who was on 202 by Snoqualmie Falls last Thursday 4/17/14 @ approx 4:00pm?

Wasn't me, Tanker. Pretty sure you visited Snoqualmie Falls, I do ride out that way frequently, but not that day. Sounds like you hit some good local spots. Let us know when you're back in town. Maybe try to come back during our 3 weeks of summer!

Test rode 2014 RT - nice, but.....

Sorry for the misquote. My point was, compared to stock GenI - II springing, the RT has more clearance, I agree. I could drag stuff leaving my driveway on my '05 before I modded the suspension. After proper springing, I find the difference negligible. Sounds like this issue has been handled with...

Test rode 2014 RT - nice, but.....

I just did a valve adjust on the FJR a few weeks ago. Having the head sticking out the side of the bike in the breeze woulda made it a whole lot easier. You gotta wade through a ton of stuff just to get to the damn cam cover. There is one feature of the '12 RT that is the worst - the mirrors...

Trapped In Colombia.... Need Forum's Help....

Sometimes trying to clarify a poorly thought out statement is an ill concieved notion. Maybe just letting the original piece lay there and speak for itself would be enough.

Test rode 2014 RT - nice, but.....

My best bud rides a '12 RT, I've spent time riding it and riding alongside it. Redfish commented about lack of cornering clearance on the FJR. Stock suspended GenI and II, I would agree, having ridden both and owning a GenI. FJR's are sadly undersprung from the factory. My m odded GenI has no...

Trapped In Colombia.... Need Forum's Help....

Well put. I helped Tony out because I liked his dream. It's only money, it's my money to throw away if I want to and generally speaking giving money to another human being is a lot better than most of the other crap I've pissed money away on. Farkling the ever lovin' crap outta my FJR is not...

    FJR Cruise throttle lock

I use the Omni Cruise https://www.omni-cruise.com/. A take off on the Go Cruise but is machined from aluminum and has adjustable tension. Works with the factory heated grips on my GenI. A bit pricey at $50. I got one on a promotion for 35. It works well.
