    GPS Mount

Sorry this is the best picture I have at the moment: I screwed the gps's original quick release mount to my homemade mount, so i could take it off easily.

    GPS Mount

MNFRF05's mount uses the same concept as mine, only it looks alot better. One advantage to the "Tank" mounted gps is it is always pointed forward and doesn't turn with the bars. With that in mind, you could also use the shelf mounted method above the gauges, if you need your gps mounted higher.

    GPS Mount

I agree with you on the heads up. I use the voice directions on the gps so I don't need to look at for more than a second anyway. But I like the unit tucked in between the bars. I would probably find a way to knock it off if it were anywhere else.

    GPS Mount

I made a mount for my garmin 2730. It bolts to the two tank bolts below the stem nut. It's surprising sturdy, and with the gps mounted, the top is level with the reservoirs. I'll see if I can get a picture on here. Not good with that stuff.

    Steal Deal (IMO) Garmin 2730

I saw this and couldn't pass it up. I'm too broke to afford the $6-700. After a 1500 mile ride with it I am very pleased with it. Definitely waterproof!! I also like it for the xm set-up. Beats the ole' mp3. As far as the mapping it's already been said, The price is great for what you get. It...

    tires

I lost my rear tire to a utility knife blade at 6500 miles. Put on a practically new Pilot Power on the rear from a coworkers wrecked bike. Been riding since. I have noticed tire pressure is more critical with this combo. With the temp changes in northern VA being erractic this time of year...

Is oil build up at final drive/motor normal?

Maybe Yamaha has been reading the posts here and thought that adding more grease at the u-joint would allow the rear splines on the shaft to get lubed regularly with the acceleration habits of our members!! My 08 looks identical to the picks. 10k miles and climbing.

    Waterproof riding boots

Just did a 200 mile ride through 40degree rain with my tourmaster, solution road boots with only regular socks on. Very impressed! Stayed dry and didn't get uncomfortably cold.

Lowest temp you have ridden 10 plus miles in

Last December I went on a 2 hour charity ride with my Vstar. The average temp was around 22F. No heated gear, no windshield, not very much fun. This past weekend I rode 200 miles from Va beach to Northern va on the Feej. It rained the whole way back with temps starting at 41 at the beach...

Any Ford engineers in the house?

I agree! Spend all that damn R&D money to clean up the 7.3l for the EPA standards, instead of figuring out how to cram all those computer monitors and coolers under the hood. Renegade, I would like to join you when that engineer shows up. You think escort oil filters are bad. Ford originally...

    Flat Repairs

Go figure. I read this post right before I went to wash my feej. I put it on the center stand and found a utility knife blade sticking out of the rear tread!! :o What luck! The thing entered through the center section and submarined under the right side tread and halfway out the side...
