Worst State for PoPo and tickets?

I love TBDs. I get to sit in the office, in a nice comfortable chair and write. I'm left alone and can do my thing. I also don't have to go out into the field to listen to all the whining and bitching from the citizens I have to deal with, or any number of ridiculous radio calls. Just for...

    Oxtar/TCX Boots (?)

Well, I have a little bit to share on this one. Yes, Oxtar went out of business. I don't know exactly how the TCS-Oxtar take over went, but you won't be able to get any replacement Oxtar parts or pieces from TCS, except for maybe sliders. I have a pair of Oxtar Supermoto boots and one of the...

Manure and other Farm related road hazards

Sorry but that's just wrong! If some rancher wants to let his cattle out, then it should be on him/her if one get taken out, not the poor sap that hit it. Nor should he get paid. Fence your property pal!

Harbor Freight Motorcycle tire adapter changes.

Ok, so I've been reading through this thread and have a question or two. I was given a basic HF tire changer. Do I need to buy the motorcycle adapter for it? I've seen the arm in some of the photos. I'm assuming, bad I know, that this is supposed to help hold the wheel down.

Father with family in SUV chased, beaten by speed-demon bikers

I was thinking about this and I'm with Hot Rod! These a-holes are nothing more than gangsters. They break the laws and intimidate people for fun. It's too bad the guy in the Range Rover wasn't driving an H1 with a snow plow on it. He could have taken out more of these morons! They make us...

    Rider/passenger headsets

Thanks guys! I appreciate it. The SMH10 looks like the ticket. I was looking at the Cardo G9 too, but they are pretty darn expensive.

    Rider/passenger headsets

I've read some and done some searching, but I would like some actual suggestions. I would like to get a communication package for my wife and I. I want headsets that are wireless, so we aren't getting tangled up. She's also talked about buying a Spyder at some point in time. So, one that we...

    SFPD Regional MotoCop Competition--August 2-3

Bottom line is money. The public agencies look at service plans and cost of the initial outlay for the bikes. They also look at what price the bikes will be bought back at. There is some input by the actual riders, but not a lot. Recently, CHP just made the decision to go back to Harleys. I...

Clairemont Cycle Supply San Diego, CA

I have a pair of the old Oxtar Supermotard boots. Recently one of the plastic buckles broke. After contacting TCS, the company that purchased Oxtar, I was told they don't make replacement parts for Oxtar. So, I stopped by a small local shop, Clairemont Cycle Supply (Jamie the owner is a great...

Why I decided to Start Doing the Work Myself

I don't know what I did to screw up that post, but I wrote this, "Because you care about the work you do and you aren't trying to make a buck, ripping off somebody. VERY WELL DONE!!"

    Ticker valve guide replacements

I was thinking about this. For cars and trucks there are shims that can be installed into the original guides. The guide is reamed out and and the shim driven. Then it is cut down to the height of the original valve guide. Would something like that work on a "ticker?"

Removing the throttle bodies to clean them?

I've never removed the TBs from my bike, but I've cleaned car/truck TBs. They don't need to be removed to clean them. I used a product similar to carb cleaner and just sprayed down the backside of the TB. Yes, they do get rather dirty.
