    dropped my new fjr!

I never dropped my cruiser either. Low seat makes it easy to flat foot and man handle. I did however drop my FJR once. Slow roll forward with wheel slightly turned. Too much front brake and it actually threw me off. Changed one panel and left a few scars. Probably one of those things you just...

Your helmet liner and cheek pads

I always wear a helmet liner. It helps. Riding in S. Florida the helmet can get pretty funky.

    Help! Ideas Needed!

I for one love the Dragon, not only the road, but the whole experience. I think my wife and I have been for about 5 years in a row. I have never stayed at the Resort, it looks like it would be fun. However I have to say I am partial to this place. Iron Horse in Stecoah. It's about 45 minutes...

    Florida RTE?

I have some very tentative plans that weekend. If they fall through I will be there!

    Help! Ideas Needed!

Ok, I'll address the second must do. You will have plenty of info from the other guys on the Appalachian Mountain area. Coming into Pensacola from the west you can do the Ferry. The Mobile Bay Ferry brings you across the bay. What's better then you and your bike on a boat? Then you can ride...

    Florida RTE?

A RTE sounds great. I am always in. I think in the past it worked best when someone steps up and just names a date, time and place. Whoever can be there comes! While I live in South Florida. We spend many weekends in Crystal River. I'll pretty much go anywhere from the panhandle south.

    Meet In The Middle

The great thing about camping is you put as much or as little as you want into it. When I travel alone I have a very simple camp with very little cooking. I take a small stove so I can make coffee. Waking up, getting out of the tent and making coffee is actually one of my favorite parts of...

    Meet In The Middle

Excellent RR Pants! Man, it makes me want to go back to Arkansas so bad! That is a great place to ride. We stayed in Jasper. Like you were saying in one of your post. Just point to the map and it's a good road. I don't think you could find a road that is not fun to ride leaving Jasper.

    QatarGP

I think they are learning not to count Rossi out. He might not have had the fastest practice but I doubt it surprised anyone that he had a podium finish. The old dog still has some hunt.

Two Wheels of Suches Open for the Season!

I would certainly recommend TWO. We stayed there during the off season so it was a little different experience. My wife and I were the only ones staying in the lodge. There were only two young couples in the campground. The down stairs was closed. So it was very quiet while we were there. It was...

    Why, Yamaha, WHY?!

I love the FZ-10,FZ-09 and FZ-07. I certainly don't see the 10 as a replacement for an FJR. That thing is a guided missle. If I was going to replace the FJR for a smaller lighter version it would be the FJ09. Couple hundred pounds lighter. Plus cause it is narrower then an FJR it's easier to...

    Western NC trip info

Hey, some of us with Florida tags know what to do when the road goes un-straight.

Soft bags on top of side cases

I don't ride two up so I just pile the dry bags on the back seat. Generally it's just two small ones. However when I have my camping gear it's two small ones and a larger one. While I put the heavy stuff at the bottom. It's piled a little high. I was thinking of moving the small black dry...

    Western NC trip info

I give this a hearty second! This is a great place to stay. They have camp sites - both tent and trailer. They have hotel rooms, bunk house even large multi room rentals. Weather permitting they build a big fire behind the main building. Lots of like minded motorcyclist come together. It's...

    Daytona Bike Week?

My Daytona bike week Road report. Got up early. Rode across the state on Highway 40. Came into Ormond Beach and rode up the beach for a ways. Then rode part of "The Loop". Decided to ride through down town. No LEO directing traffic on main street so it was worse then usual. Was looking forward...

Contemplating a Fat Bob. Am I crazy?

I have the FJR as my primary bike. I kept my cruiser to have a second bike. I am glad I kept it. It does serve a purpose. About 90% of the time I would rather be on the FJR, but certain rides are just made for a cruiser. I live in SE Florida. I nice slow ride down the beach is much more suited...

Been a while since some Cruiser Bashing...Well I got a new bike.

No cruiser bashing from me. I still have mine. 60k on the odometer. I don't ride it near as much now that I have the FJR, but I still like it. In fact I am getting the brakes redone right now. Thinking to keep it. It's a nice change of pace from the FJR.

    2013 FJR setup

I put about 5,000 miles on mine before I did anything to it. One thing I didn't see in the thread was the reflective stickers. That are sold for the hard bags. Those things work great. Makes an FJR really light up from behind at night. Good cheap insurance. Can I put a link to them in a thread?

What mods have been done to your FJR.

I am not disputing that is what you get. Don't really consider myself a midget at 5'10". However my experience is no turbulence at all at any speed with the windshield fully up. I get some extra wind noise where it hits the top of my helmet, but that is no problem cause I wear ear plugs anyway...

What mods have been done to your FJR.

Well I was more interested in percentages than discussion. For example the windshield voting already surprises me. The stock windshield works perfect for me. I am surprised so many people have to change to an after market.
