Short version added because most people probably aren't interested in my verbose narrative. :)

05 FJR 1300 saddlebags for sale

They'll probably move quick over at the FJ-09 forum. They've typically gone for a little over half your asking price, though. But, hey, get what you can! Glws.

    White screw- throttle body synchronization

I adjusted my white screw on my old fj09. Panicked, I talked to a tech and was told to not worry about where the white screw was, just to make sure the gauges matched and ride. I only did about another 2k miles after that sync, but all seemed fine. I suspect you are just freaked out like I was...

Looking for Selling Advise for 2008

My guess is that around $5k or less it will move pretty quick, and at $6k or more it will sit indefinitely. Maybe start around $5500 and see what happens? I've sold most of my (recent) previous bikes by listing on Craigslist and cycle trader. The former results in a lot of spam, but is such a...

    Where's the bags?

I imagine I could find my plugs if I looked around a bit. But I don't know where they are off the top of my head. In nearly two years of ownership I have never installed them. The bags come on and off regulrly and I just decided I didn't want to deal with the extra step.

    Time for a new bike...

Yamahasupertenere dot com. Not as extensive a history as here I don't think. Definitely far less going on than advrider, but model specific. Should be all the info you'll need on the Tenere, though.

    Time for a new bike...

Oh, btw, after re-reading your initial post I realized I overlooked two things: your quest for cross-continent suitability and shaft drive. I concur that shaft drive is awesome. Whenever I tinker with a chain I appreciate my FJR all the more. The shaft is one of the main reasons I wanted the...

    Time for a new bike...

I've had all three, although the V and Wee were the original body style. I agree that the Wee does seem lacking in the power department. And it just seemed a little small. I enjoyed my Vee. Took it off road in Nevada and got stuck several times, but it handled very rough non-technical dirt...

    The Cajun Yeti

You had me going there at the beginning. Excellent RR. Sounds like you had a great trip!

    Didn't know that I had a twin!

Heh. It can be a challenge. I believe if you load on imgur and right click -> copy image address you'll have success. I find copying the suggested link doesn't work. But congrats on the new bike!

Surprise Ending - What to do with a high mileage 2003 FJR

Awesome! That's about as a good a home for it as any. Maybe one day I'll make it over there and see your bike on display. :D

Denver to LA on the Tenere - January 26/27 2018

Thanks for all the compliments, Eagle Six! You're a great rider also and the ZX looks like an F-14 in action! Sorry it was a cold ride at first, but I was thoroughly impressed by how you toughed it out! And thanks again for adding that leg of the route. AZ would not have been nearly as...

    Six county ride.

...I don't think any of those pictures loaded properly (not that I should be one to talk about it).

Denver to LA on the Tenere - January 26/27 2018

So far so good. I'm strongly considering a flash. It's no FJR power-wise. I think I might change the air filter and throw in a fresh set of plugs first, to make sure I'm getting all it will give stock. I also need to figure out how I plan to ride it and when; the Mitas E07 are apparently great...
