Gonna be a blast! Lucie and I will be doing this, then on to the Black Hills. Already can't wait...

    Retiring (and Riding) in Mexico

Guanajuato is a really interesting town - really enjoyed the tunnels in and out of the centre, like riding through a mineshaft. Very cool! Griff

    Royal Robbins 1935 - 2017

I climbed a few of the routes that he, Chouinard and some of the other legends put up when I lived in SoCal. Classic climbs. A legend. RIP Griff

    Retiring (and Riding) in Mexico

I've ridden through central Mexico from coast to coast a few times - roads are pretty good, secondary roads are in great shape (generally) but the topés (speed bumps) in the villages will tear the lower chin fairing and possibly the centre stand off your FJR at anything beyond a very slow...

GenII, front and rear wheels wanted

I may get the busted ones fixed as well, and keep them as spares in case of another Oops! moment. I managed over 100,000 miles without it happening to the first set, so unless these things come in bunches....

Will there be a 2017 CFR?

Bump... any more ideas on this? Even a rough idea of the (possible) date? Griff

GenII, front and rear wheels wanted

Thanks guys.. I grabbed the set Ross mentioned last night, getting them shipped to my mail drop in Montana and if all goes well and they are as advertised I'll be good to go. Thanks again for the help! Griff

GenII, front and rear wheels wanted

Looking on Ebay, and elsewhere. Apparently (thanks Iggy) I need a Mk2 ABS wheel from a 2003 to 2007. The front isn't available to order new ... so if I can't find a used one in decent shape I may be hooped... So far no luck...

Gen 1 vs Gen 2 ABS wheels...

Thanks Iggy. I was 99.99% sure that was the answer. Griff

Gen 1 vs Gen 2 ABS wheels...

Question for the smart guys - hoping someone will know. I need a couple of Gen2 wheels, after some bad luck with a curb (long story). Found some Gen1 non-abs wheels for sale, reasonable price. So here's the question... Can a non-ABS Gen1 wheel have the ABS sensor ring parts from a Gen2 ABS...

    rest in pieces….#3

Hi Firus... you don't happen to have the wheels off the totalled 06 do you? I need front and rear for my 06 AE Cheers Griff

GenII, front and rear wheels wanted

Long shot, but hoping... Need front and rear wheels for a Gen II (06, AE) Mine are dented from a curb incident, and the only shop around here that COULD straighten them has a bad reputation, and wants almost what a new one would cost me to straighten these. Thanks, Griff

    Broken Shift Actuator on AE

So what's the verdict Bill .... did the second repair hold up? Huh? Huh? Enquiring minds wanna know..... Griff

    Broken Shift Actuator on AE

As Ross mentioned, it looks identical to the break I had - although mine happened at about 28,000 km on the clock. The jury-rigged repairs you've done are impressive, and I hope they hold for you. I agree with others that the best solution is to find a used actuator from a wrecked AE. Getting a...

Who tows a trailer with an FJR ?

Greenham: Bought the trailer at the end of 2010. Probably have 30 or 40,000 miles on it at this point. Empty weight is around #250, full up is less that #500. Generally sleeps 2... opens into a queen-sized bed space plus a vestibule. I'd rather NOT pull a trailer with the FJR - it's a bit...
