Question for the smart guys - hoping someone will know.

I need a couple of Gen2 wheels, after some bad luck with a curb (long story). Found some Gen1 non-abs wheels for sale, reasonable price. So here's the question...

Can a non-ABS Gen1 wheel have the ABS sensor ring parts from a Gen2 ABS model fitted so they can be used on a Gen2 bike?

Or is this completely out to lunch?

Hmmm....

Depends on your skills to machine, fabricate, weld, and/or use The Force to make them work. Gen 1 non-ABS wheels don't have the bosses to mount either of the Gen 2 ABS model wheels (you probably didn't know there are Mk2 and Mk3 style within the Gen 2)

If you're asking the question, I suggest you stick to the FJR Model Compatibility Matrix (this question has been covered numerous times on the forum and distilled details in the matrix). You probably want to try to find the correct rims instead of going down serious modification roads.

Or if you do go down the modification road--you'll be the first to have done it and we'll want details on how you made them work.
