I selected 'hard' the day I picked up the bike and never rode it selected to 'soft'. The stock shock in my opinion is not bad but the right spring sure has made the difference for me, at far less cost than a complete replacement shock. I'll never miss the 'hard/soft' controller.

I bought and installed a front set of springs and a rear replacement shock spring for my 03 FJR this spring. A friend who races dialed in my settings and I can't believe the difference just changing the springs made. HyperPro also sells complete rear shocks if you want to spend a lot of cash...
