Angel on my 08 at 5073 miles. I checked them at 4900 miles before the start of a day ride and thought I had about 1,000 miles left in them. OOPS! I cut the ride short. Going to have Metzler Z8's installed tomorrow and give them a try.

+1 on tires and pressure but just my opinion, I Replaced stock Z6's with PR2's and just replaced the PR2's (8,500 mi) with Dunlop RoadSmarts. PR2's were were good until about 6,000 mi and then the FJR became an F150 again. I have about 600 mi on the Dunlops and the handling is fantastic...

my other bike is a 09 KLR650. completely different but both are a blast. my wife asked me once, "if one had to go which would it be"? I replied, "YOU" she hasn't asked again.

I have the same problem...so I kept my 08 FJR Sold my 08'CBR1000rr and bought an 09 KLR650 I'm happy again....for now!

You're right, it was a great day and supposed to be a nice weekend. I live in Denver, Pa also and plan to put some miles on this weekend. Going to check out the fall foliage and some of my favorite roads in Northern Pa.

Good bet your battery won't recover. Installing a new one is the best way to go. When you're shopping for a new battery be careful of going "cheap". You mostly get what you pay for.

I got my '08 FJR on Friday. 300 miles so far and love it. The ST1300 didn't do it for me either but my main ride is my '08 CBR1000RR. I suggest you take a ride on the new CBR. I'll admit what Honda is thinking can be tough to figure out at times but they can still get right when they want to.
