Additional Tail Lights on the FJR

After being re-ended on an FZ 1 by a woman who had been following me on a WV country road for 8 miles I decieded that I would do what ever I could to become more visable....even to those who already see you. On a replacement bike a Honda Shadow I made my own lights using truck trailer side...

    Dividing concrete walls on Highways

Permit me to be "facetious": so the driver in the on-coming lane can watch you crashin'. Also, there pretty good for "blinding on coming drivers" with your headlights. Since most people are mislead into thinking just because there is a wall...no need to dim the lights. In reality ....the...

    Scariest ride ever

Windchaser...you got it but in this case I wasn't "chasing it"! I was being nailed to the wall! The windshield was put down right after I hit the winds and never moved back up. The front tire is fairly new and is wearing properly. The thing that was so scary is as someone else has mentioned...

    Scariest ride ever

I had been runing north on the Blue Ridge Parkway Saturday morning approaching the point where it changes into the Skyway. A early morning weather report indicated strong westerly winds of 25 to 30 mph with gust to 50. Althought it was windy on the Pkwy I figured it wouldn't be a problem down...

    Tank Bag

I went with this one: https://www.newenoughhp.com/luggage/tank_ba...e_tank_bag.html Added powerlet outlets to it to handle electrical requirements. Looks cool, fade resistant and basically water resistant. Went with Carbon Fibre top...........did I say it looks cool?

Running WV State Route 99 over Bolt Mountain..

"that's a 10-4 on that one".....and in the winter months when you can "still get in a ride"...because of the shadows it can get dicy. But, heck....it is one great ride and I ride it often....it is a good place to clear your mind of everything else except what is directly in front of you!

    This is sample photo text

When your trailer is loaded and you are riding at speed, isn't that trailer too far behind the bike. I have no experience in pulling a trailer with a bike but have logged several thousands of miles with a car and trailer. Frankly, it looks kinda spooky.

Running WV State Route 99 over Bolt Mountain..

Oh yes, I am sorry, I should have recogized that. I've have ridden that road several times, it actually takes one by Baileysville Lake. Matter of fact that is one of my "nothing else to do but ride" routes. I can do a loop of Man, Gilbert, Hanover, Pineville, Oceana and back home in about and...

Running WV State Route 99 over Bolt Mountain..

You came "o so close...just 12 miles from me". Had you opted to take 10 east you would have riden just above my place on a new 4 lane road (now don't get all excited...cause it is only a mile long). My place to the interesection of 99 and 85 is 31 miles. Next time you come close give me a...

Running WV State Route 99 over Bolt Mountain..

You all are invited to ride along with me(via the video) on West Virginia State Route 99 over the ridgeline of Bolt Mountain. I didn't attend the EOM last fall however I believe some of this route may have been on the ride agenda. I drive this road quite often and thought I would make a...

    Riding WV State Rt 10

Thanks for the kind words. Blair Mtn is located on Hwy 17. At the very beginning of my video you will notice that route 10 splits right at the very first intersection. The other road is Hwy 17. Blair Mtn is about 4 miles from that junction. There is nothing special located on Blair Mtn...

    XM radio install

I really enjoy listening to XM Radio..I do it all day at work via their "online" broadcast. With that said I rarely change stations so it wasn't important to me to place the reciever on the handle bar or a place that I could instantly reach for it. I've had it on the clutch cover until it...

    Riding WV State Rt 10

Yes, there is a 1/4" mounting hole in the bottom of most cameras. It is used to fasten the camera to a tripod. The reason for the glare on the windscreen is my fault, as I could have easily adjusted the camera to eliminate it alltogether. Go here...

    Riding WV State Rt 10

I used the Ultra Flip 60 camera and Windows Movie Maker to process it. This was my first experence using both. I'm satisfied with the results although I have a lot to learn to improve the out come. Incidently, after using this camera I bought my own, the new Kodak Zi6. It has even better...

    Riding WV State Rt 10

I've never done anything like this before, which incidently, has become the norm ever since I bought my FJR. The darn thing has turned into a life changing event. Anyway, I live along WV State Route 10 which has been a very dangerous stretch of hwy for years. Two major mag. have placed it...

    I Think I Understand

Hey man...those pics are really special! I really enjoyed your commentary and the pics. You really have a eye for getting it all in the camera. Nice job. I agree with what others have said....your pics are definetly "screensaver" material.
