    CO adjustment

Vulcan, I never even thought of that. It wouldn't change the CO settings but it would lighten the twist, I might just have to try that, thanks!

    CO adjustment

Thanks all. I think I'm going to go back to stock settings and then maybe work up at 2 point at a time. I initially went to +7 and then up from there so maybe there's a point between factory and +7 that will work. The surge is evident at very light throttle, ie just coasting or barely...

    CO adjustment

Disconnecting the battery didn't really make much difference. I tried adjusting the CO level up to +12 and things started getting worse so it looks like you can go to far. I backed up to +10 and it is smoother though the surge is still present and I checked the TB sync a second time just to be...

    CO adjustment

I'm going to try disconnecting the battery tonight and let it sit for a while to "reset" the ECM, then just ride it with the CO set at +8. If I find I can't live with it, I think the Techlusion sounds like the most cost effective way to handle this. I'm happy with the power, so getting more...

    TBS

Thanks guy, I think I see a Morgan in my future except I like the idea the MP has a finer scale. What to do, hmmmm.

    Gas Tank

Had this exact problem last night after I sync'd the TBs, and for the life of me I couldn't figure out what was wrong. It turns out that it was not the front or rear brackets that needed loosening but just the rear pivot bolt. It is tight at the pivot and so lifting the tank without first...

    TBS

Just did my TB sync tonight and I'm getting frustrated with the MotionPro guage. I'm getting bubbles in the glass column as I'm running the engine so I have to turn it off or else finesse the throttle a few times to get the separated mercury to join together. Does that make sense? Anyway, I'm...

    CO adjustment

Windjammer, I understand what you are referrring to but this is different. Out on the open road, yes, I would not likely be in this rpm range but in the city, with stop and go, the surge is annoying. My 04 Triumph ST I just sold had very nicely calibrated fuel injection as did my K series...

    CO adjustment

I'm working on getting rid of a surge between about 1500-2500 rpm on my 05 FJ. I've done the jumper modification and can now access my CO adjustment on the instrument panel. I've followed the directions given by others who have done this but I'm still getting the surge. I first added 7 points...

Any Input On Front And Rear Tire Pressure??

Won't raising the pressure tend to cause a smaller contact patch thus leading to greater wear in the center of the tire rather than more evenly spreading the load as with the manufacturer's recommendations?

Quick question: Idle speed at start-up

Thanks for the tech links, those are great! Took the bike out for the first time yesterday to the foothills. It felt like we were old friends immediately. It's hard to really get much out of a brief test ride while trying to pay attention to everything going on so yesterday was the real test...

Quick question: Idle speed at start-up

Well gents, the bike was very nice and it liked me so much that it followed me home  so I guess I'll have to keep it. Just finshed tucking it in for the night, can't wait for the weather to cooperate. Thanks for the all input, didn't expect such a great response. Sounds like the...

Quick question: Idle speed at start-up

Ambient temp was probably about 50 so I guess it's nothing to fret about. Thanks for the quick reply.

Quick question: Idle speed at start-up

In about 10 minutes I'm going to check out on 05 FJR. In one of the pics sent to me the guy has just started the bike and the tach is showing 2000 rpm. Is this normal?

    WTB '05 FJR

Rich, Thanks. I wouldn't mind finding a 49 state model with 7500 miles then I wouldn't have the air-injection and carbon cannister to deal with. Is there a performance or drivability gain with the non-Calif. version? I've heard that some of the FJRs have a lean stumble or hesitation which...

Forgot to ask, can you search by subject nationwide(ie FJR) on CL or just by one city at a time? I've just been trying Sacto, SF and LA.

    WTB '05 FJR

Highlander, Thanks for the info. Since I'm just getting started you may be right about $9K being to low but I've seen 3 non-abs FJRs in the last 2 weeks selling between 8900 and 9400. I don't mind shipping or travelling for the right bike/price so I am hoping with patience the right bike and...

    WTB '05 FJR

Hi toecutter, I tried that last night at Roseville Yamaha. As luck would have it they had a low mileage 05 on consignment but priced at $14K! When someone starts out that high it doesn't seem worth the trouble of trying to deal. When I asked about maybe ordering a new '06 they quoted me...

    WTB '05 FJR

luvtoride, Thanks for the message. I saw the post and immediately called and was told by the salesman they did have a non-ABS model but he said he was prohibited from quoting over the phone. I am in the Sacramento area (400 miles away) so strolling in to his dealership wasn't likely to...

I am looking for a non-ABS 05 FJR in the Northern California/Sacramento area. No salvage please. I can be reached at: 916 415-0752 or send me an email at [email protected] My budget is around $9K and it will be a cash transaction, no loans or trades involved. Thanks, Roger
