You could hook one up so it is switched and hook the other one up on the post on your blue sea that comes from the battery leads. just put a new eyelet on the leads after you shorten them and this will allow you to run the battery tender off of one of the powerletts. Kieth
I found a garmin 2730 refurbished unit that come with the xm antenna for 170.00, sold the gps for 100, I really like the antenna better than the roady or sportscaster, sound quality is better, like menus on screen on my zumo
Lasers are not used everywhere, where they are they are very effective, as everyone else said if the detector goes off you more than likely will be ticketed. I looked into jammers a few years ago, Radar jammers are illeagal everywhere, the FCC has regulations against the jamming of radar...
I have been a hold out on the xm reciever for the Zumo, got one 3 weeks ago and love it. I purchased a refurbed 2730 for $170.00 sold the gps for $100.00 kept the xm antenna and am a happy camper. Lots better reception than the roady , roady xt , or sportscaster (antenna designed for...
If you are using the Boostero there is one thing you might check, I do not think one has to use a ground loop isolation cord when using the boostero, since the input from the zumo is going to a battery powered device and then into the starcom, autocom, etc. one should not have to purchase...
You might take a look at a centech power distribution center, they are nice looking functional and will keep one from jury rigging the wiring on the bike........... Kieth  If you set the centech up with a relay turning everything on you will not have to tap into the bikes...
I am a autocom dealer but I think we are all facing the same issues. If you use the bluetooth dongle to the cell input of the starcom, pair the bluetooth dongle with the Zumo, Pair the cell phone with the zumo. disconnect the speaker from the the zumo to the starcom, set the priorities...
Oh almost forgot take a look at the harbor freight wheel chock (the larger one) it would serve you well .......lists for 79.00 they often go on sale for 59.00 and use e track in the floor of your trailer to make it easy to tie bikes down.
Kieth
to comfortably handle 3 bikes you need a 102" wide x 12' long enclosed trailer or you could go with a 12' long with a V nose and have it only 7' wide. This means the middle bike will be farther forward and leave room for the other 2 on the outside. Of course the wider the better if the...
This is why I use a Centech AP 2, it has switched and unswitched fused connections built in it. On BMWs with a canbus I always use the AP2 so we can run a battery tender connector. Having all of the terminals switched  on a power distrubution system does not work all of the...
Do not know if you have a electric vest or jacket yet, but one of those would be a better place to start. As the temp drops our bodies shut off the flow of blood to our extremeties in a attempt to keep our body core warm. Get a electric jacket and your hands and feet will not get cold so...
Hey guys no offense but you can hope that bluetooth works til you are blue in the face, the fact is it is not up to the task yet on a motorcycle. I have a heck of a time keeping mine paired with a headset in the car, let alone a whole audio system with good audio quality on a bike. Wait...
Get on the balls of your feet, it preloads the tendons in your legs, helps take weight off your hands, and helps support your back.......it also keeps one from dragging their feet in corners and transfers weight to a lower position on the bike. This is why the Harley feet sticking out riding...
Open up the cig lighter end on the sat radio, remove the fuse, the springs, and the external chrome, solder a red with to the pos, solder a black wire to the neg, put it back together, attach the wires to your fuse block.
Get one that packs small, I just went to www.eurekatent.com and they have a factory 2nd section, this 2 man tent packs in 6"x 15" and weighs just 4 lbs. I really fought to keep the pack length under 15" long, this tent is on sale for 49.00 not a bad deal for a lightweight tent. I...
Autocom has addressed the issue of bluetooth in there dealer manual it states that bluetooth is nice but it does not work, if you want to spend a lot of money and get poor quality then get bluetooth, if you want good perfomance and a guaranty that the system will perform, stick with hard...
Do what we did, 8 of us got together, we bought a full on tire machine, balancer, and a lift from Greg Smith Equipment $2400.00 total, cost us $300.00 each, we do our own tire changes, balancing, and general maintenance. <_<
Thought I would chime in here, CBs are a problem for everyone, the frequency they operate on, and the inherent noise in the AM band are why most of us use FRS/GMRS. On Autocom units the CB interferes with the vox circuitry, I spent 2 weeks getting the CBs on 2 Harleys to work properly...
The bass response on in helmet speakers is never going to be great, the drivers cannot reproduce a bass tone due to the size of the driver, the wind noise you hear on a bike is a bass tone so it has a tendency to overpower the bass response from your headsets. I have ordered the koss...
