    Muffler Replacement

    A gasket? Really?

    Deals on Ohlins?

Not to worry. Guess I haven't updated profile in a few years. Rather wish I still had the old blue beast but I now have a silver sled. Shock fit fine, haven't had a chance to really evaluate it yet. I don't ride two up or tour, just wanted to eliminate the wobble in some of my favorite bumpy...

    Deals on Ohlins?

YA053 Ohlins from Hard Racing. Just got it today, about $575 shipped. Hope to install this weekend. No remote resevoir or adjustment.

hwlp a dealer tech solve my prob

Yup, same failures, same fix. Pesky horn harness did me in too. Saved some diagnostic hours at my shop by telling them about this thread. Thanks!

    ABS Warning Light

Turned out to be the horn harness grounding on the frame somewhere. My selling dealer installed Magnum Blasters along with FJRandy's setup and botched the job. They had the fairing off to replace the meter, seemed like all the room they had at the time they could have done it right. No longer...

Good - Bobby J's Yamaha Albq. NM

The owner rides a Gen II; he's got to be alright. :)

    What would you do?

What he said. I did it a few years ago after a tip over, courtesy of a Chevrolet. Came out quite well, cosmetically AND financially.

    ABS Warning Light

All fuses checked out, the brake pedal is not binding, and I was not able to easily disconnect the switch(s) so I left them well enough alone. Broke an anvil once. Still under the miserable 1 year warranty so I'll take it to the dealer I have come to favor. Spoke to the service manager today...

hwlp a dealer tech solve my prob

Guess a good place to start would be the original harness for the horns, as mine too was replaced.

I hate pontificating, whatever it is.

hwlp a dealer tech solve my prob

Great. As of yesterday I have all the aforementioned problems on my 5 month old 2010. Why didn't someone warn me to keep my 2005?

    ABS Warning Light

Last night after 30 minutes or so practicing low speed maneuvers, mostly using the rear brake, my ABS light started flashing on my 2010. I thought it might reset itself after cooling but it did not. This morning I took a ride and discovered my windshield did not respond, nor did I have horns...

    Road to Taos! (preview)

My dog freaked out! She wants to see that carrier if you would please! Been down that road to Taos many, many times, but sadly never on a bike.

    GSG-Moto Framesliders

Dealer told me 35 lbs for the engine mount bolts; went with that. I attempted to get an answer from Motivation Accessories, but phone messages and fax were ignored.

    BT021 Shot in 2700 miles

I found a sympathetic service manager at a Yammie shop who owed me nothing, yet he made calls both to Yamaha and Bridgestone on my behalf. He finally was able to get Bridgestone to admit that even though there is no mileage guarantee, 2700 miles was really not acceptable. They offered me a new...

    BT021 Shot in 2700 miles

I called Bridgestone on the advice of Yammie's customer service line. Nobody wants to own up to either manufacturing, or selling me a crap tire, and I think that is irresponsible. I just want to know whose plate glass window to throw the damn thing through. Then, having my closure, I can...

    BT021 Shot in 2700 miles

Assuming you replaced only the front, did you notice any handling issues with the PR2, and the BT rear?

    BT021 Shot in 2700 miles

Spoke to Bridgestone today, totally unhelpful individual suggested I take it to a Bridgestone dealer for inspection, not that was any sort of mileage expectation. Since he was so helpful I asked him for the name of one, he could not do so, told me to use the yellow pages! Bye bye Bridgestone...

    BT021 Shot in 2700 miles

I used PR2s the last two changes on my 2005, got 6500 and 7000 miles respectively, front and rear wore much more evenly as well. I do plan to go to the Michelins, but with the rear only at 50% I damn don't want to replace the front with another BT021 while I wear out the rear!
