Gen II rear brake - decreased efficiency

I had bled the rear caliper before posting that with no change. Just bled the front, 5 minutes worth and got several bubbles. Problem solved, but how does air get in a closed system like that?

New sponginess + travel to RR brakes

Just did the same on mine, got air out of the front caliper. Very odd. It's never been bled before and has 33k on it. Sat for 2 months (longest stretch it has set) and spongy rear brake. How does air get in the system like that?

Gen II rear brake - decreased efficiency

Did you come up with anything? My 2008 sat for about 2 months without riding. Now upon using the rear brake, I get the normal movement with light braking, but then it is only a light pressure and the lever moves much farther down than it should. I can bottom the lever and the wheel just...

New PR4 GT rear, now wiggly feeling

Yep, I used a DynaPlug and it worked great. We won't get into my reamer size, but let's just say it was a tight fit.

New PR4 GT rear, now wiggly feeling

Yea, that's what makes life go around. ;-) And I deserved it in this case. After some digging, here is what I found, in the order of which I like: Orange M202: I like it, but I'm not so sure the are still in business as I can't find anywhere that sells it except a couple on ebay. Doran...

New PR4 GT rear, now wiggly feeling

mcatrophy: Yea, I learned my lesson, unfortunately when I got home from work each day, as I get off the bike I'm not really wanting to get down on my hands and knees to check until I go in the house and change clothes, then I didn't always make it back out to the shop. That's why the kick it...

New PR4 GT rear, now wiggly feeling

Checked it tonight before riding to work tomorrow, 30psi.... Went on the hunt and found a nail, in my brand new PR4!!! Less than 250 miles on it. It's in the center of the tread and a small nail, so it looks like a patch on the inside will be the best method. Guess i'll be picking up some...

New PR4 GT rear, now wiggly feeling

I may have found the source of my wiggle. I installed the tire last Saturday, pressure was set at ~41. Rode it to work most of the week. Didn't check the pressure again, but did eyeball it and kick it like I usually do and it felt solid. (Usually check the pressure every couple of weeks and...

New PR4 GT rear, now wiggly feeling

Exactly as mine seems to be. Straight up, or only partial lean it feels strange, but full lean it seems solid. Only once has it done the "wilder" squirm like you see on race bikes as they come out of a curve or as they set the front wheel back down after a hill.

New PR4 GT rear, now wiggly feeling

I had planned to ride SE Oklahoma into Arkansas over the weekend, but the wifes ankle/knee hadn't healed enough from her wreck to allow it so we had to take the car, but I sure was drooling in the twisties! Anyway, on my way home from work I have a long high speed left hander, so I pushed the...

New PR4 GT rear, now wiggly feeling

I am going to triple check my work and put it on the lift to make sure there isn't something else, but if it's still feeling squirmy around the 500 mile mark, I will be taking it off. I liked the PR2's and the PR3's, both felt really good, but I did have a bad (out of round) front PR3...

New PR4 GT rear, now wiggly feeling

Old Guy: Yep, checked the pinch bolt and the 4 bolts that hold the rear assembly to the swing arm since I also lubed the splines while I had the wheel off. Those 4 were my first thoughts when I felt the first wiggle.

New PR4 GT rear, now wiggly feeling

Dave: I'm with ya, and that is why I'm posting. The first couple of days it seemed ok, but then I noticed a slight wiggle, then yesterday if gave me the bigger wiggle in the curve. I would say I might have been leaned over half way and only about 50-60% throttle when it did it. It wasn't...

New PR4 GT rear, now wiggly feeling

At the angles that I tested, yes, it is worn in, but probably not all the way. The edges I'm still working on, and the first day it was solid, but now I'm going easy on it. Just put it on last weekend and I'm up to about 250 miles on it so far. I could understand it feeling a little squirmy...

New PR4 GT rear, now wiggly feeling

I'm running it at 42, and it definitely feels like it's coming from the rear and not the front. The previous tire issue you may be remembering may be mine as well. I seem to have issues with new tires. So far I've had a bad front PR3 and a PR4, both after replacement they were spot on again...

New PR4 GT rear, now wiggly feeling

Ran PR3's previously, installed a new PR4 a few months ago, had the forks rebuilt due to a leak. No issues through all of that, but I put on a new PR4 GT and now the rear feels loose and wiggly. I got my first ever real wiggle like you see on those super high speed races when a bike comes out...

    SH_46 error

mcatrophy, Thank you, that definitely explains a few things. If I had known that, I would have taken it even easier on the thing during practice. I would think there would "need" to be an oil feed inside the clutch or it's going to sling off just about every drop that does hit it.

    SH_46 error

They covered it with no question. The dealer stated that it was likely the oil that caused it, but did not relay they type of oil being used as a cause. They just told me to change or I'll be back again in another 30k. I do agree I could have been a little easier on the parking lot practice...

    SH_46 error

Got a call and the bike is ready. All submitted for YES, but pending review so I'm not 100% sure the fork seals are covered, but should be. They said the clutch appeared to have been hot, and especially the outer disk. It was pretty much gone, while the rest were just worn, but still ok...

    SH_46 error

If they tell me that after the fact, I will be arguing. I spoke with my dealer and he said the clutch shouldn't be a problem getting it covered, but he called on the fork seal I have leaking. He told me that YES told him that is a wearable item, which I sorta understand, but disagree. I...
