I took it to the dealer and it turned out to be a bent crossbar that the seat sits on. He bent it back up with a crowbar and the seat snapped right in.

The key works and the latch works also. I had another seat on but had to put a few washers behind the D ring to make it go far enough in to lock. Any other suggestions?

I have a 2005 FJR. The stock seat won't lock down. I've tried pushing down, putting my knee and all my weight on it, and sitting on it and jumping up and down. Nothing works. I thought 'd add some shims behind the U ring to give it some more depth but the U ring is connected to the seat...
