2011 IBR - The Inside View

And that was the reason for my post back on page 78. If you assume these kind of things then you will get burned. My post was for those that havn't been in these events to take a little peal of wisdown that someone gave me.

Four Corners isn't technically at the four corners I believe. Also I do think you get a receipt from them too. If the riders got direction to accept four corners then that would be OK, if not that is an assumption I would not make.

    A Great Loss

I decided to take some time before I said my thoughts. I'm pretty new to the LD world and I know a lot of riders and friends I've never met. I knew Eddie James but never met him, I knew Davo Jones but never met him, and I knew Ken Morton but never met him. For that I am sorry, but I am glad I...

2011 IBR - The Inside View

I know Jim he can ride, and I believe this is a rally for him with his experience over Meese. The four corners is 4800 points and I bet he grabs every high point capitol Meese grabs. Those grabbing Key west now just won't have time to grab the capitols to get the last corner either. Go Jim Go!

2011 IBR - The Inside View

Any news on what the 3rd leg surprise was? Point values up? new non capitol locations? I went back and re-read Tom A's Day -1, he wrote about the return to simpler IBR of the 90s "To go back to a time when you could ignore a multitude of piddling bonuses that were just a little bit out of the...

2011 IBR - The Inside View

Kristen is a rider, she was down a ton of points on leg one of the IB5K and made them up and then some for a great finish. She and I got held up just south of four corners for awhile in construction traffic so we talked a bit. It was one of those weird rally moments to have time to talk with...

2011 IBR - The Inside View

I believe he made a mistake and forgot to claim it on his score sheet. I learned that lesson, fill in everything in the score sheet as you go (date, time, miles, location, etc). I looked at all the riders score sheets and several forgot to claim the call in bonus. Speaking of points, looking...

2011 IBR - The Inside View

    I really like doing points / mile calculations as a way to see how efficient a rider is. 1: 1.31 2: 1.32 3: 1.19 4: 0.98 5: 0.96 6: 0.95 7: 0.98 8: 0.92 9: 1.01 10: 0.85 There are a lot of riders out of the top 10 that are in the .85 - .95 range.

2011 IBR - The Inside View

Actually it does considering there are quite a few in this rally without multi day rally experience. I had no multi day rally experience prior to the IB5K so I played it safe and got to the checkpoint early and took a longer rest on leg one then the minimum required. I think staying rested...

2011 IBR - The Inside View

This is the best forum going, I've been a lurker since the last IBR and finally signed up tonight. The insight from Warchild, SkooterG, and Jeff Earls is just gold. I've learned that any time a big dog talks to listen, I was so lucky to be able to listen to Jim Owen last year at a presentation...
