I am a little late in responding but the DR650 is a great commuting/ fire trial / easy to moderate off road bike. I have over 46,000 miles on my 2006 that I bought new. No problems whatsoever - just normal maintenance.

Thanks for the replies. Sound like I should be able to lane split ok with the FJR, I just need to get my tail down to a dealer and look at an actual machine. Ray

Thanks Ignacio for the reply. I knew what the width was I just wanted to confirm the wide point was the mirrors. My question is how high above ground are the mirrors?

Hi there I am researching the FJR as my next bike! My current bike is a 2006 Suzuki DR650, I bought it new and just hit 44,000 miles. 44K would not be much on a FJR but let me tell you, its a lot of miles on a 650 thumper ! I am going to set up the DR for mostly dirt and I need a more road...
