it was more like 8,000 miles when I checked mine out, so I don't think it is a big deal till you do your first rear tire change, I would not go over 10,000. don't forget the universal joint also. my 05 is just over a year old and only 26,000+ miles on it.

get the ME880 "VR" that gives you a speed of 150 MPH about and it is Radial for the rear get 170/60VR17, that tire is set up for a 5.5" wide rim which is what comes on the the FJR. for the front get the 120/70VR17. make sure you get the RADIAL................
