    Clearwater auxiliary lights info

My auxiliary lights came from LEDRider. They don't carry the same model that I bought any more, but there are still some good choices there at very reasonable prices. I have them wired up to a Skene controller that's set up on a 10%/100% configuration. And I also use a soft relay that's...

    Wanted: Bike with character

My itch for an old (aka, with character) bike was scratched with an '83 BMW R100. It was an RT converted to a CS and I'm probably going end up with something in between. I want to be able to get on either bike and ride without ergos becoming too much of a factor. Is my '08 FJR a "better" bike...

    Mirror Bracket for auxiliary lights

I use the SW Motech mirror extenders to get a little more width on my mirror view. On order to mount the lights, I cut a couple of blocks from a jewelers rubber block (really stout rubber, maybe 1 inch thick) to use as vibration damping for the LR4 LED aux light that I have. I drilled a hole...

FJRyder, if you decide that shield isn't for you, I'd be interested.

    Cee Bailey's 23" tall windscreen / trade 21" tall

There was a link on one of the forums about where to order it. It may have been on alibaba, aliexpress, or rakuten, maybe even ebay. I just don't recall. I do remember that it took so long to show up that I had forgotten totally about it. When it finally did, it was like having another...

    Cee Bailey's 23" tall windscreen / trade 21" tall

FWIW, I have the 21" reverse flip Cee Bailey and attached the cheap knockoff of the MRA Vario to the top of it. That gives me what I wanted and in the summer I can even angle that little screen down to act as an air scoop. Not quite as aesthetically pleasing as I would like, but not too bad with...

    :..Which Mirrors work..:

I'm using the spacers to move the stock mirrors out. I also added some tiny blindspot mirrors to the corners of my stock mirrors. This is the best setup for me, functionally and aesthetically. As a bonus, I mounted my auxiliary lighting to the mirror extenders. Others like the FZ1 mirrors, YMMV.

    Securing Devices in Top Case

Just the one side for now. I may put the other one on for symmetry, but it's not needed for lid support. I suppose if you were securing things inside the lid, or had a rack mounted on top of th lid, it may be necessary. But then you might also want beefier struts as well.

    Securing Devices in Top Case

Works perfectly. After about halfway up, it pushes the lid the rest of the way. It''s not going to fall. At all. These are rated at 30N (about 6 lbs if my converter utility is correct). That's plenty for one of these lids. I got a set of two for $10.

    Securing Devices in Top Case

I just added this. I was using a flexible spring but it didn't work as well as I needed it to. Hope the image shows properly.

    Interesting starting behavior

The new relay worked like a charm. $25 well spent.

    Interesting starting behavior

Just an update on this. I've been sidelined after some hand surgery in December so I haven't been extremely eager to work on anything. But I did get a relay from a 2007 (thanks philter) to try. Unfortunately the relays are different part numbers. They look exactly the same except for the plug...
