    Got one on my 2005. Pre-load is just a ring above the spring. Unlock a grub screw, insert the 'key' (metal rod that comes with the shock) or an Allen wrench or anything that fits and wind it round till you get where you want to be.     Wish I’d seen this sooner! I’ve done a ton of research and experiment on this. I started with the stock screen, moved to an MRA Vario, then to a Loster (HUGE thing) then back to the MRA with the addition of a VSA-B extension. It’s a long and detailed story so I won’t bury this thread with it...

    U.S. in the U.K. - 2006* FJR1300

    My FJR1300, registered in the U.K. in in March 2006 but according to its labels, built in August 2004 AND confirmed by Yamaha U.K. as a U.S. bike! Confused, or what??!!
