There was a time I was afraid of my FJR. One day I was determined to overcome my fear of the performance abilities of this bike. I took a litle ride to my private, remote test track, stopped and aimed the bike South and let'er rip. No timer, just me and the pavement and the wind. What a rush for this old man! Trust me, it lofts and carries the front wheel easily in 1st and lofts again in 2nd while accelerating rapidly, shift into 3rd the bike settles as the front wheel bobbles along the pavement. YMMV.
Warning: Verily, verily I say unto you, the horizon approachest rapidly!
I've done it once and lived, so I suppose that began my mastery of the bike rather than my fear of the bike being master over me. Besides, adrenalin is a legal drug, even if the activity that stimulates it isn't.
