FOR 03 - 05 FJRs ----HERE'S THE DEAL: Talked with Mike at University Motors (866-551-6478) a minute ago.

- Stator is $125 and the gasket is $3.50.

- Call Mike directly, mention "FJR stator group buy pricing."

He said his supplier had ~10, now has ~9. Any orders above that will be backordered.

Another example of how the folks at University Motors bend over backwards to help us here on the forum. I sure do appreciate it!

One more out of supply. Mike said they're down to ~7. For me it was $138.50 with shipping.

Thanks JimLor for setting this up.

My pleasure - but I gotta say that this was the easiest group buy in history.

1. I didn't realize there was already a group buy at the height of stator frenzy last year (must've been asleep)

2. vertorvp1 sent me a PM about the great price at U Motors

3. Mike at U Motors replied right away when I emailed him with a good price and his preference that folks call him

directly and mention the group buy

So, thanks to vertorpv1 for the steer to U motors and thanks to Ignacio for adding a separate place for group buys!

I'm just glad I could help.

:good:

Is it a hard job to change ?
No-just requires care. A hand impact to remove the screws retaining the stator, some cut and wire to transfer the Yam Regulator connector, some careful torquing the cover back onto the engine.

Overall not too hard, but the three bolts holding in the stator were a total ass-pain! I almost stripped one of them fuckers when I was trying to remove it. Take your time and use an impact wrench!

Warchild volunteered to come over and be a QC expert on my upgrade. He's certainly becoming the expert having done at least a few of these.

Hopefully, I'll be able to snap some pictures and do a FJRTech.com-worthy write-up for the upgrade in the next several weeks.

Just saw this and ordered minutes ago. I was on the fence on the last group buy and wished I had ordered.

Thanks to those who made this work.

No need to wait for Iggy's report in a few weeks.

I'm replacing my stator gasket ( pita ) right now and taking pics. I'll write up a How-To ( as taught to me by Warchild ) and post it in Technical.

+1 for me to.

And as an added bonus, they are going to ship USPS Priority mail. (Not UP$) Woohoo!

Looking forward beeroux's write up.

Thanks for that tip Colin.... Just phoned back to confirm that mine is coming that way as well...

I know it saves us the headaches....

And does anyone know if Australian members can apply? (he asks hopefully)
