I'll be mounting a smuggler on the '04, already has a Givi rack and topbox. I've been reading some scuttlebutt on this forum that there may be fine tuning-fitment issues, although no specifics. Corbin states to me that the picture on their website, of the same setup, is there because they are compatible and they have had no complaints about fitting the '04 Smuggler to an '04 FJR with a Givi rack.

Anyone give me a heads-up of what issues, if any, to expect on the mounting? Much appreciated...

I think it will fit....you may have to do some MINOR electrical work but it should work.............

Well put... To answer my own question, and expand on Richards observation, a Smuggler will fit on an '04 with a Givi Rack. The underside tabs on the smuggler are not a 'spot on' match with the holes on the frame they should match up to, but close enough. The smuggler gets bolted down, rather than easy on- easy off like the stock rear seat. I will modify that so it's a drop in like the seat.

Everything you have attached, or sitting on the rear wheel well, under the rear seat, needs to be moved. Richard and I spent approximately 5 hours re-wiring, re-locating the Fuzeblock and Autocom, which now live happily ever after under the front seat, along with their retarded cousin TK3101.

I'll have to go look now, but I'm pretty sure I've got my Autocom and TK3101 tucked back far enough to clear the smuggler.

That's entirely possible. Based on the existing wire routes up, through and over to the wheel well location, it was a no-brainer to just move them.
