Well, I finally lost a fastener - the allen head bolt that holds the front ABS sensor on an 05. Anybody happen to have an extra!

Thanks.

You can actually get a much better one in almost any hardware store, and in stainless, too. Put some anti-seize on it and you'll be fine. I can't remember the size and pitch - just take the one off the back as an example. Btw, some anti-seize placed carefully on the ABS housing barrel is also a good idea.

Thanks BkrK12, I didn't even think about the back one being the same size, I'll do that.

For those interested, the bolt size is: M8 x 1.25 x 16. I found 2 at Lowe's for $1.31.

I think you have to make sure the bolt is the right material. The sensor is magnetic and could be affected by the type of steel it is. Might be worth the few bucks extra to get the real one from the stealer.

That mounting bolt is pretty far away from the actual sensor itself where the slotted wheel passes by the sensor.

Magnetic fields drop off inversely with the square of the distance so I doubt it'd be an issue.

I'll bet the OEM bolt is ferrous enough to stick to a magnet anyway.

Finally got out today. Both front and rear ABS work just fine with the Lowe's bolts. Just went out to see if the OEM bolt will stick to a magnet, couldn't find it to save my life!
