I feel like a dumb@^^. I removed the gel pad and haven't had a problem since. Evidently the pad was pushing me toward the tank and my long arms were pushing me back putting a kink in my lower back. I rode to Road Atlanta this past weekend and didn't have a problem at all.

The worst position for your lower back is the bent forward position (like touching your toes from a standing position or hunched over as if riding a crotch rocket). To alieviate lower back pain I do "Cobra Stretches". A Cobra stretch is done from the front leaning position (like a pushup position) but rather than bridging on your toes, you do it from your knees (like a girl pushup). From this position tilt your head back and look at the ceiling and at the same time arch your back down as far as you can. When you have arched your back as far as you can... arch it a little bit more and hold it for about five seconds and do it again. Do about five reps, more if you have the time. If you can't get on the floor you can do this by leaning against the wall and arching your back. Do this all day as often as your can. Saved me from back surgery ten years ago. Your back will love you for it.

Bananas!

I can't believe I'm saying this but one of the best things I've ever done for my body is yoga. I always thought it was some weird stuff but I tried it with the P90X program and after a few weeks, I felt great. I highly reccomend it.

+1 for Master Yoda position. I sometimes feel pain/soreness when riding. As soon as I do, I take note to my sitting position, readjust into the proper Master Yoda position for riding and pain is gone again.
