06-09 Bin-O-Facts not so factual?

In the 06-09 FAQ, it lists the oil capactity as...

Engine Oil: 5.18 Qt total, 4.02 Qt without cartridge, 4.23 Qt with cartridge change

It the total is 5.18 quarts, what does the 4.23 quart with cartridge mean? To me, it reads like if you don't change the filter cartridge, expect 4.02 quarts of oil, if you do change the filter, then expect 4.23 quarts. Where does the other 0.95 quarts of oil end up from the total of 5.18 quarts?

Sacrilege! Actually, it is VERY factual and accurate.

That .95 quarts of oil you are missing is stuff that is trapped in the engine and doesn't make it out during an oil change.

Blame that on Yamaha and not the Bin-O-Facts.

+1 SkooterG!This is correct!!The 0.95 doesn't coming out in every change oil..and this listening not good...

Basic math. Total capacity - amount replaced with each change = residual left in engine.
