The clutch action on my '06 doesn't fully disengage the clutch until the last 1" of pull.

I clutch with two fingers (index & middle), and find that with the lever pulled in and making contact with my ring & pinky finger the clutch is still slightly engaged. I can shift gears, but not near as smooth as ...

If I clutch with four fingers, pulling the lever to the grip the clutch disengages fully and shifting is smooth.

I had the shop flush and bleed the hydraulics when they performed the safety inspection, without clutch improvement. Brakes are much better!

I would be surprised if the clutch plates are worn with only 6700 miles on them.

Any recommendations on solving this?

Thanks much.

Yes, I've adjusted the lever for maximum travel. Sorry I forgot to mention that!

My 07 is the same way. The last 15mm or so of lever travel is required in order to fully release the clutch. I run the lever in position-4.

My only advice is that so far the slight drag has not been an issue. You just have to mentally adjust to it and remember that the first and slightest movement outward causes the clutch to catch. I've choked the 07 off more than all my other bikes combined in over 40 years.

Will let you know if I find a good answer.
