You set it up correctly, apparently, but incompletely, if you ask me.

You need a third choice -- undecided.

That would be me. I'm too new an owner, 3 weeks, to make a decision to buy right now, but mine is an '04, and the '06 AE has almost everything I'd want to customize on my, short of a servo cruise control, so I might trade up within the next 12 months.

Then there'll be a cherry '04 for sale here. :D

You also need to also put in the FJR1300AE, don't you?

Can the MODS fix that? Perhaps they should delete this one and start over?

There's a dealer here in OKC who is getting two bikes for thier shop, one AE and one A model. If I get there and see the A and like what I see (I really like the instrumentation), I'm calling my CU and riding home. I am tossed between this bike and the GW. I don't want to wait to buy till next year, I don't want to put the bucks down and wait up to six months. If I have to wait, I'll continue my search for a low mileage 05 GW (ABS and CBC only) and not commit myself for to wait by putting money down first.

I find it interesting that so many people are thinking seriously about replacing their existing FJR with a new one. Seems like this bike will last a long time before a replacement is required.

And don't forget the other poll option:

"I couldn't afford this FJR when I bought it, how am I supposed to get an 06?"

I am one of 119 (per my dealer's Yamaha rep)who placed an order in the USofA the first day. Mine is an A model...izzit March yet?? DFO

Red or Black is the only way I trade my '05. Oh yeah, and hopefully the PDP crap will finally be overwith by then too!

I just ordered an 'O6....no electronic shift. I just like to do it the old fashioned way. Its my first FJR. I just had to see what all you guys have been raving about. I will have to keep the VFR though, maybe give up another vice instead (Lord knows there are enough of them).

Actually it probably be should be electromechanical clutch, or just PBS. Push Button Shifter.

What do they call it in Europe? YCCS - Yamaha Chip Controlled Shift.

It's not an automatic..... although Yamaha in Europe does call it SEMI-automatic.
