So your brand new 06 FJR needs some breaking in before your first service interval, and why waste all those local 10 mile trips over dozens of weekends when you can do it all in two days. We will be riding the back roads all saturday, breakfast in solvang sunday morning and returning home. Route to be announced. Many of us will be staying overnight in the area, like buellton or lompoc, and returning home the next day. I think my friend said my route will be close to 470 total miles over 2 days.

Bad news the, hotel is fully booked, unless you want a smoking suite close to 3 bills. So for those who want to stay over night, I suggest you look for alternatvie hotels in the area, or maybe someone here has some suggestions further north.

Well me and my buddy got rooms at the lompoc quality inn for the over night stay. We will be leaving at 8am in Laguna hills. Still working on a nice route to ride.

Ok, here is the finalized route as of 4/24/06.

SATURDAY: South Orange County riders will start Laguna hills at 8am. I 5 to 57, to 210, to I 5 to 166 west from bakersfield. 166 into Taft, north to 33, to 58 then 101. 101 south into Lompoc for a night stay and evening excursions.

SUNDAY: 101 to 246 into Solvang for breakfast, after breakfast east to 154 to 101. South thru Santa Barbara to 150. 150 thru Ojai country to 126. 126 east to 5, 210, 57 home.

Note: Sat we will hopefully be in Taft by noon, lompoc by 3pm for check-in

Sunday breakfast in Solvang and motorcycle museum for a short stop and bakery goods.

Its going to be a very nice ride thru the back roads, so lets ride!

Looks like its going to be a beautiful day, hot in the 80's and partly cloudy. We will be leaving Starbucks in Laguna Hills at 8am sharp, so be there around 7:45am for coffee and safety checks. If you live along the route (especially 57 & 210) then let us know so we can take the exit nearest you to pick you up. Also this will be a good time for me to try out my new Scorpion Exo-200 helmet, which makes me look like a CHP on the highway. As a reminder, we will be staying in Lompoc at the quality Inn for the night, then riding home thru Ojai on the way home. Should be spectacular and colorful scenery since the rains, so make sure you have back-up batteries for your camera.
