After 4 months of trying , I decided I couldn't live with the stock seat, anymore. Now I am not your usual FJR owner. Over 6' and 275 lbs and a rider since the 60's. I spent a solid month deciding on a seat. Finally had Ritch's in Seattle measured me , check my inseam and riding position. He decided I sit a little off center. Probably because my right leg is 1/4" longer then my left. All this was taken in to consideration. The foam was applied and I was asked to go for a ride. It felt great, so a beautiful silver grafite leather seat, trimed in black leather and with blue top stitchwas crafted. $675 and the full 8 hours spent at his shop and I'm very happy with the seat. Why buy what someone in a shop across the country decides you need. Custom made for me made sense. Rich built over 2000 seats last year. And each one done one at a time. Look around your area for a seat pro. It is amazing what they can do.

We want pics. We must have pics. We need pics. We will not be happy til we get pics. :D

Of the seat! Never know when some Rad type will post a pic that causes temporary blindness :bad:

I would be interested in seeing some pictures too. I have been thinking of going to Rich's as well.

I hate the stocker saddle, but can't ride to Seattle from Hartford to have my butt feel better. I have to have some saddle maker do his stuff and roll the dice.

I've been pretty happy with a local HD saddle maker who made a couple WING saddles for me using my seat pans. Perhaps I could do this as well with the FJR. Memory foam, gel pad, new cover ... Hmmmmm.....

I don't mind spending the do re mi for a custom saddle, but it would be nice to see how my butt sit in the deal, eh. The back rest looks pretty kewl, too, tho... but, without the risers, the leaned over riding position does not seem to make the rider's back rest a good deal. I don't know ....

Russel day long saddle, you send pictures of you on the bike and then send the seat (in the winter) and it is built with your seat pan. I love it, absolute comfort. Does look like a tractor seat though...

Took an advanced rider course here in Oregon this past Spring, and one of the instructors had a Rich's seat on her Triumph. Beautiful quality and she sang it's praises. Might do a drive up to WA. Any contact info/web site info? Pics of your seat would be great. You'll have to let us know if the tanning of the silver leather lasts.........
