Did he say April First?  :haha:
My dealer called me on April 1st to tell me my new R1 had arrived (I put down my deposit in October). I told him if this was an Aprill fool's joke I was gonna come down and KICK HIS ASS!!! It wasn't. I took delivery on April 2nd, and as someone else said, the long wait was forgotten as soon as I laid eyes on it. Patience glasshoppa. :assasin:

This is my 3rd "wait". This time I have my "old" FJR sold upon receipt of my '06. It really did suck being bikeless for even a short period of time. But, I found that upon taking delivery the frustration of the wait rapidly melting away, to be replaced by the sheer joy of realizing that this bike is exactly what I was looking for. At least FINALLY Yamaha has it worked out so you don't have to wait untill mid summer/early fall to get the thing. As for the wait, consider it a "rite" of passage into the FJR realm.

Oh sure! Rub it in for the newbies...."I'm on my 3rd FJR"....yeah, right, that'll make'em feel much better.

Mark, you are a cruel dood!

And for you real waiters...April delivery.... :haha: Bwah-hah-ha-ha-ha-ha

"Like, no problem Mike, your FJR will be here in time for your vacation!" :haha: Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha

I think the dealers have a special program to see how gullible waiters are. :haha:

Well Mike, I just wanted to "share the love" :D But as you noticed, I did mention how great the payoff is....Of course, waiting still sucks...

Sat 28 Jan 06 FWIW: Just got off the phone with the owner of the shop I am getting my '06 FJR from. He finally got thru to his Yamaha rep late yesterday and the rep has NO-NADA-NONE knowledge of any delays to FJR shipments starting in March. As my bike's order was placed on day 1 he said it should be in the first batch...in March.

Given the rather large number of bikes I've purchased from this Honda/Yamaha/Suzuki dealer I guess one could say I'm a "valued" customer...summthinn @ that red carpet......... Anyhow I'm sure the dealer principal and his rep were stating what they know.

BTW, just got back from @ 42 miles (n. IN, s. MI)on my lil Suzook DR-Z400SM, now there is a fun "air conditioned" bike to ride; razor sharp handling and strong brakes. Runs pretty quick for a lil 400 single pushinn 218 #s of me. Nice as she is...I do want that new FJR! DFO :D

What wait? Try ordering on Feb 7th and getting it on Sept. 4th. Last year 05.

The wait is worth it.

OH yeah I put 150 on mine today. Not bad for north-east PA. on JAN. 28th. 3 states PA. NJ. NY. 45- 54 degrees. Add some heated gear and GGGOOO out.

:p :p :p :p

My dealer told me to expect my 2006 FJR-A late March. I will believe it when I see it. I will be fine as long as I have it by June at the latest, I have road trip plans in June and August.

Having another bike does make the wait easier but I am still excited about going for some long rides on the FJR. An April delivery would be sweet so I could have the bike figured out and broken in by June. Life is good ;)

I waited long enough for my FJR; I had to ride 30 minutes to the dealer who had 2 new 05's on his floor and wait while the paperwork was completed. It was a nearly unbearable wait. :(

Ho de ho ho to the previous post and the long wait...funneee. OTOH my '03 took about as long to get, except I had to ride @ 3 miles to my dealer, the same one that will hopefully have my new bluuuu '06 FJR sometime in March. Of course with my luck we could get nailed with a blizzard the day she gets to the dealer. If so they will be seeing a lot of me until the streets are clear; not that they don't anyhow! DFO

Dude, EVERYBODY (in the USA anyway) waits for the FJR. In your case, you just let the dealer do the waiting for you, and decided later than most to purchase it. ;)

@Silverbullet, now that you have a "blue" one coming, is Jenny going to insist on color-matched outfits? I mean, er, just about any color combination of riding apparel seems to work with the silver bikes or gray bikes, but now that you have a blue one about to arrive....???? Perhaps a little "retail therapy" for the distaff side, hmmm? :D

Just got the call from my dealer, now says mine will arrive in March. :D

Yeah, I had to wait a whole week for my '05 and could hardly stand it. Damn, it was almost tempting to buy the non-abs that was sitting on the floor for $1k less.

Just got informed by my dealer that my 06 is scheduled for April Delivery. That's not bad considering I ordered it the second week of December. Course he orders a couple for himeself every year and I would not be suprised if um just getting one of the first ones to come in.

Looks like eye will make it to Sparta and Reno after allllllll. Whoooooool!

This is interesting ! I got an e-mail yesterday from my dealer,to say that he had

been contacted by Mother Yamaha & that the estimated MONTH of delivery was now APRIL too! I hope they are wrong & that it will actually be sooner. That April

date would cut my ,already short season by a month ! But we could get a rainy

March. I hope they don't keep moving the carrot. Sliick2

I just heard from my dealer, and according to an email they got from Yamaha 2 days ago...my 06 will arrive in March. So nannny nanny poo poo....
