I'll edit this post this evening with Serial Number, but my 06 was stolen over the weekend from my (gated) apartment complex parking garage.

Make sure you have your theft coverage. As times get tougher, thefts go way up.

Since I'm looking at a transfer to Singapore in the near future, I don't see myself getting another one in the near future, at least not until the transfer question is settled.

That sucks, I seriously don't know why people bother with the FJR, I know there are a lot more out there lately but there is much more to be made stealing other bikes besides ours!

Not good. Sorry to hear the bad news Rayban. Here's hoping you get the bike back or a really nice settlement.

chin up - friend... i know it sux because i have been there myself.

my '03 connie was stolen - so i like to consider my current bike an upgrade (sort of an understatement).

the tough part for me was not that the bike was gone - but rather - they stole my psych-ie - i'd come home and i'd have my leathers, gloves, helmets and boots... but no bike.... - i was a bike guy with no bike.

you're going to find yourself doing triple takes when another FJR goes by - and over time you'll learn to deal with it better... but for now it's gonna blo-HARD.

don't blame yourself and good luck in the future.

dave.

That sucks....If it get's messed up,hopefully it will mess the thief up as well.....Guns,and garages!!!!

I've lived in apartment housing most of my life, hard to sleep wondering what's going to happen to my bike,or car.

Rayban, Thats too bad. I was hoping you'd join us for a ride soon. There were a bunch of Socal FJR's in town for tech day at Slappy's over the weekend and I was wondering where the guys got all the farkles. Joking aside, maybe Fairlaner's fancy smancy alarm is a good idea. I heard somebody remark "who'd take the trouble to steal a japanese bike in socal?" Ironically, same weekend yours went missing. I'll keep making the theft insurance payments. Hope you make out OK.

Dude, sorry to hear about this. You must be enraged.

Hopefully, you're made whole by the insurer, and that transfer is in your favor (your idea?).

I remember back to 1975 when I parked my 74 CB750 in a Sear's parking lot.. came out, and it was G-O-N-E.

Fortunately, I was the fool and exited a different door and the 750 was in fact safe n' sound.

Still, the moment of loss is staggering.

That's beautiful, man. Seriously. Sad, but beautiful.

Sorry to hear that your bike was stolen.

I thought FJR's were more like BMW's, no one would steel one.
I was thinking the same thing. It's not really suited for a joy ride when compared to the sexier sport bikes, and parts are not in high demand. I hope this is an isolated case. Still, I will be more careful from now on.

thats terrible, I hope they drag that person behind a fast moving fjr and then 20 more run over them

Jorstin

Was it possible it was towed? Was it parked in someone else's space? If not then that really sucks; I'd hate to have a vehicle stolen, and I too live in San Diego.

What's a good aftermarket alarm and/or tracking device for motorcycles?

Ray,

Post up your bike info and an distinguishing markings. This is just wrong. BTW, how are you after your surgery?

Havn't ya heard! The resale on Hardly's is way down. They let everybody buy one now. Even if they don't know how to ride. The after market is saturated with them.

I FEEL YOUR LOSS! I would be out in the neighborhood with guns blazin trying to get her back.
