Hi All:

Finally have my 06 back to me after being without it for the last 18 months (it's a good thing actually), but I have a question. I noticed the windshield has "play" in it meaning you can actually move it back and forth a decent amount. I have noticed others do it, specifically a friend's 06 and another 07, but I also have seen brand new 08, 09 and 10's with no play at all. The looseness seems to be in the mechanism under the front nose, not the shield itself.

So, my question. Is this nornal on the 06's and is there a fix. Or is there a problem that was addressed in later years?

Thanks,

I had the MPG guage recall done by a local dealer and noticed the windshield rack bolts were loose when I picked up the bike-

The windshield mechanism was redesigned after 07, which is why you notice less play. Not worth buying a new bike for that feature, so I'm sticking with my beautiful GEN II 2007.

My 06 is really loose - 6 miles of dirt road every day with a barn door shield have taken its toll.
