:bleh:   :p   :bleh:   :p   :bleh:   :p Actually, I've heard there is an "Alice's Restaurant" on the right side of the continent.  The person who told me about it said it was the real  ALices. So there, all you smarty-pantses!

Uhm, Toecutter, you could always come and order the new '06.......
The real Alice's isn't called Alice's it was just owned by Alice so that's what he called it... :) :)
He? :eh:
Arlo Guthrie, dude.

Arlo Guthrie owned Alice's Restaurant and sang a song about it?

Oh Ayyyyyeeee don't want a pickle.... Ayyyeeee just wanna ride my moto-sic-kle, and Ayyyee don't wanna die....jus wanna ride on my moto-siii-kullll!

Highlander - Count me in at 10:30 AM, on the 1st of Oct-TOE-burrr! Barring NO earthquakes, NO Uni-Lateral Liberal uprisings, and No other Quirks of innature. I'll try to be at Alice's on the Skyline at the departure time! Where are WE going to see the '06's anyway? HAVE YOU GOT AN '06 STASHED AWAY? (clever man!).

I'll be heading up from San Luis Obispo Thursday night, so tell me....how long does it take to get to Alice's if I grind up "The One" departing from Watsonville, to hwy 9 in Santa Cruz, then to Alice's in the AM?

Thanks dude! :detect:

The map shows 66 miles. How long it takes is up to you.

Den Mother has to work at Moffett that Sat. So I might as well stay with her in the neighborhood Friday night and join the ride at Alice's!

I'll prolly stay at my sister's in San Jose (85 & 87, of Blossom Hill). Rick, if you're in the Moffett area, maybe we can hook-up. I'll phone you Sunday.

You can get anything you want at Alice's restaurant..... 'septin' Alice...

The Yamaha Event Flyer is calling this a sportbike unveiling. I hope the new FJR is included.

Hey guys, being in the "Industry". what Ive heard is that Alices is going to be an R6 and R1LE unveiling. No other products will be displayed. Thats what I saw on the dealer only site. Just thought you all might want to know. But hey its a good excuse for a ride. Heck if Im wrong maybe youl snatch a peek at the FJ?

Thanks for the URL, now I know what is going on!

Doh, no '06 FJR1300?

Now, I'm disappointed! Seeing an '06 R6 and R1LE would'nt be "too bad" if'n there was some Yammy "booty" available! I was hopin' for some vender stuff, like a kewel Yammy ball cap? I'd even pay $$ for one!

Maybe I can score some "dealer info" or "compare notes" on where to get the best price for a Y.E.S.? Or maybe, I'll have to chalk this one up for "it's just a ride"?

Thanks for the info!

I'm thinkin' it'll be a great excuse for Highlander to show us more of the secondary roads in his "backyard". Unlike last time when only 3 of us showed up, I'm doubting there'll be a Bar-B-Q at the Highlander Estates...but then, we make our own fun at whatever eatery we find. Besides, I'd rather see Di riding pillion than home fixing dinner.

Besides, we'll get to meet other FJR owners we haven't seen for a while.

Ya Know? This might be a "real interesting revealing" at Alice's this weekend, but then again, maybe not... ?

This bit of gossip from the FJR1300 micapeak.com list"

> So why is it that no one has mentioned the fact that you can get the 06

FJR with an electronic shift transmission? It's called the FJR E. The

clutch is electro hydraulic and there is no clutch lever. You shift using

either a pair of buttons on the left grip, thumb for down and index for up or

using a lever in the same place as the normal shifter except that it attaches

to an ECU and not the actual transmission. Is this going to be available in

the US or only in Europe? The article in Sport Rider doesn't say. Heated

grips are also a factory option.. JC

I (personally) am becoming very "curious" as to what is going to happen to the "newer" FJR's??? They seem to be evolving, and that's...Great to See!

disclaimer: I am not from the industry (I don't want a pickle)... I'm just an enthusiast (I just want to ride my motorsickle)! B)

Who knows whats in store??? some dealers say yep , some say no, typical Yamaha logic!

Here's some routes to Alices. ( BTW the parking lot across the road from Alices, the " Trading Post " is a lot more level than the Alice parking lot, most bikes usually park there on the weekend )

From the north / San Mateo bridge, take 92 to 35 ( Skyline ) south, or from Dumbarton bridge either 84 straight to Alice's or take Page Mill rd for a more tech twisty route, from the south bay, / Saratoga, take 9 to 84 north, and from the really south better hook up with Jawdge!!

Jawdge, give yourself 2 hours from Watsonville, you'll waste some time through Santa Cruz ( you could stay on 1, to 17 north and bypass the Santa Cruz slowdown through town , and get off on Mt. Hermon Rd in Scotts Valley, and then head for 9 )

It looks like I have been redirected to Fallon, NV and will miss Alice's. The Den Mother had a sudden change in work plans. Take that 06 for a joyride and ride it like you stole it! :D

Well, this ride looks like it may be getting too small. I better show up. Sometimes sacrifices must be made. I'm a giver. Sorry Mike, I won't be bringing along your newest adopted daughter.

A good friend is one who will come bail you out of jail at midnight......A true friend is one who will say, "Wow, that was fun....."
"A good friend will help you move. A true friend will help you move a body" - unknown

Not to worry, she's still around. She got guilted into attending a birthday party for her one year-old Great nephew. When he turns 10, I'll remind him of how much fun we both had at his first birthday. I just won't mention the fact that I wasn't there at the time.

Is anybody getting together early Saturday morning in the Sacramento area for the ride over to Alice's? Where, and at what time?

I'm in El Dorado Hills

Found that my gf will be working this weekend so I get to go! This will also serve as an excuse to break in my new Aerostitch 1pc that was delivered today. Life is good.

Anyone plan on camping Saturday? There are some fabulous campgrounds in this area and the weather is still nice. I'm going to roll down to Butano or Portola State Park after the festivities.
