Am I the only person that wants the color to remain blue?
Your location makes it obvious.
It has nothing to do with UofM's colors (took me a minute to figure out what you were talking about because I'm not much of a sports fan). My house, car, current bike and wife's truck are all blue; if my FJR is not blue, it will feel different and out of place. Besides, everyone knows that blue bikes are faster :)

I don't think your going to see much in the way of changes for 07. Lots of 06's still available at dealers & everyone knows Cobalt is the fastest Blue you can buy. :D

Uselesspickles, did you say your wife was blue? ....how does she feel about this?...not too happy I bet  ....

I heard a rumour that it's going to be black. It had to do with what Honda is doing or has done.

(Hoping for RED!)

Since the plastic is painted and a person has to order his FJR months ahead of time, why can't we pick from many available colors? I think Polaris has a similar program, and many options are available. WTF?
Yamaha could start a "custom ordering" program for different colors, but would the market be willing to pay for it? Most of the other mfgs who offer such programs have fairly limited options and charge a premium. And keep in mind that it's not just a matter of loading different paint into a paint gun on the assembly line - if you offer a new color, it may have a different paint process, and you have to support the color by offering spares for at least seven years or more. It all adds up to extra costs that have to be passed on to the customer.

The big selling point about the FJR since it's inception has been the amount of bike you get for your money, especially if you can shop around during the PDP periiod for a good deal.

I do think that a choice of perhaps two colors each year would be welcome and justified, but I'm sure Yamaha feels that the numbers just don't support it. Honda has been a single-color bike for their ST line since inception. BMW offers more choices, but they charge more.

Sorry...have to disagree....different colours have been available for years in Europe....nice try though....& just FYI.... their bodywork & ours are identical for every year.....

I'm with ya on the red Stephen. :yahoo:

I wonder where "Bounce" is when you need him. :angry2:

Last Fall he brought us a Powerpoint presentation of the 06. Does anyone else remember that?

I was trying my heart out to convince my wife we "needed" a new FJR. She didn't give in because she doesn't understand the passion for the sport, but when my 50th Birthday came around in March I didn't ask, I just plopped the money down for a new Yamaha thinking she wouldn't notice. It took a while but she, being a non rider, finally gave in to accepting what I had done. Now she's okay with the whole idea and asks, "When we goin' riding again?"

My dilemma is making the switch from the red 06 FZ1 to a new red 07 FJR1300. Do ya think she'll notice I added a few things and somehow made it look bigger over the Winter? Maybe not.
