07 stiff clutch lever

Had the chance to see two 07 FJR's and both had very stiff clutch levers. Is this new to 07's or did 06's also have this "problem" as my 05 clutch is smooth as silk. Also noticed a lot of orange peel in the paint especially on the luggage rack. I don't know if I'd buy a 07 with a clutch that stiff or paint that bad. Anyone else notice any of these "problems".

They make the clutch stiff like that to bait you into getting an AE. GENIUS!

Yamaha already has a cure for the bad paint, stiff clutch and shifting problems on the 07A's....

This is my first FJR so not sure how my 07 feels next to a 05 but it is a little harder to pull than my 950 KTM as far as paint jobs go my 07 is just awesome every time I stop I have to stand back and look it over.

'06 and '07 are identical bikes other than color so I'd guess they have the same clutch. There was some complaint that the '06 did have a bit stiffer clutch pull than the previous years. As to it being a "problem", I don't see it as one. The '06 is my first (newer) FJR and I don't have any problems with the clutch.

Having had an 04' and now an 06', the 04 clutch pull was alot easier. I figured it was because they were beefing up the clutch to allow for the AE...

Clutch is stiff? Well after a few hundred miles your weak hand will beef up some and you will never notice it again..

As for the paint, I went over my 06 carefully and did not find any issues. Would hazard to say you might want to look at a few more 07's if you think the paint is that bad, as the ones you saw may just have been done badly. If you have to search for the bad spots the whole thing seems moot, especialy considering you will likely drop the bike and scratch it up as you can't pull in the clutch properly...
