07 Top Case

Does anyone know if Yamaha will offer the top case for the 07 in the black cherry color?

Yeah, next year. I was waiting and waiting. made numerous calls to yama mama and finally bought GIVI V46. Should be coming in this week.

I ended up getting a silver one from ebay. Color Rite does have the paint code for the 07, so I'll just have it painted to match.

Call MOTOGRID @ 1-877-668-6474 and ask for Ryan in parts. He has the correct part# that IS in the system with the price and correct color description. He ordered one for me but could not give any time on availability as of last week.

They are located in Joliet IL. Their price on the website is $475.00 He made me a price of $459.00 when I ordered it on the phone. I have ordered many items from them with no problems.

Good call on MOTOGRID, they extended me the same price for the rear trunk as well, they also sold the attachment kit for $95.

I called D&H in cullman and they quoted basically retail wich is $589 for the trunk and $116 for the attachment kit.

As you mentioned they do not have a ETA yet but hopefully it will not be too far out.

I checked with the dealer here in Maryville, Tn. today about mine that I have had ordered for a couple of weeks.

They said to plan on a delivery date of Mar 30.

I called D&H in cullman and they quoted basically retail wich is $589 for the trunk and $116 for the attachment kit.

Got a call this afternoon from Ryan at MOTOGRID, said he checked with Yamaha and that they hope to ship the top cases no later than April 3rd

Had my 07 for 2 weeks and ordered the top case a week ago from the dealer with a 20% off coupon. Still expensive andno idea on eta. Bzckrest is an additional 100 or so. :glare:

Have you heard from him about the case? I spoke with Ryan last week and still no word on a shipping date. I am waiting for them to ship prior to me ordering. Would hate to order it, and have it ship the same day I go overseas.... :angry2:

Talked to Ryan yesterday and Yamaha told him the expected shipping date had moved up and could not give him a specific time. Said he would call Yamaha again next week.

Personally, I think you guys would be happier with the Givi V46 and OHFJR rack. Not only is it cheaper (about half the costs), but I think it looks better and matches the bike. Plus you can add tail/brake lights to it and it won't crack the bottom like some of the Yamaha trunks have been known to.

You can get the box and OHFJR rack mount now, and when Givi comes out with the color matched lid for the 07 in a month or two you can add it later.

And yes, I do have a vested interested in this as I am still selling the light kits for the V46, but even if I wasn't I would still recommend it over the Yamaha trunk, simply because I believe it is a better product for less money, and is what I use on my own bike.

Just stopped by the dealer on the way home tonight and checked on the 07 top case.

Not in yet, they called Yamaha and they would not give them a delivery date and added that it would not be any time soon.

The dealer had told me that it would be in around the first of april, wishfull thinking I guess.

I may be going with the Givi.

Yamaha must be either changing the design or waiting until they have a certain number of orders before they break out the paint and start painting them. Makes good sence I guess but I really would like to have a top case now. I'm american, I don't like to wait.

Having some trips coming up, and having to put my laptop into the side bags at an unwanted angle, I figured what the heck....I called Yamaha CS in CA yesterday.

The nice young lady put me on hold as she said I would need to talk to a product specialist. After being on hold a few minutes, a gentleman got on the phone and said he would try to help me as the main specialist was out at the time.

I asked when the Black Cherry top box would be available, and he said sometime in Summer. No real answer when I asked if that was May, June, or October...2007

I also asked if there were any design changes, other than the color from the 2006 boxes. After noting that he didn't think so, I asked if there wasn't any paint left over from the bikes?

Anyhow...the guy was nice, but didn't have many answers. He asked for my phone number and said that he would try to get some answers and call me back.

I made a call to Motgrid yesterday and they do not have a confirmed ship date for the block cherry cases but said that many Yamaha parts orders are slipping as well. They were very helpful and also said it looks to be about 2-3 weeks out, hopefully.

My local dealer also has said about delays for Yamaha parts as my order for a 05' clutch slave cylinder that was supposed to be in last week has been delayed for a couple weeks also.

Maybe the boat got lost? :glare:
