Just wondering if anyone had a rear seat for a gen II they wanted to sell? I don't care what the cover looks like I just need the pan (with hardware). Im probably jumping in the deep end but I would like to try and make my own smugglers trunk. Thoughts?

I got started on a similar project a couple years ago. I had a rear seat pan, covered it with rigid foam and started shapring it with an electric knife. My plan was to then cover it with a release layer (like glad wrap), then apply carbon fiber. I never got to that point. I still have a sheet of CF and the epoxy resin.

I was never quite sure how I was gong to attach the CF shell to the seat pan. Then there's the whole bit about cutting a door in it, making a lip and some sort of rubber gasket seal, hinges, a locking latch etc.

I also ended up finding a smuggler for $350, so pretty much dropped the whole thing.

I never thought about carbon fiber but I bet that would look great. I plan on fiberglassing the whole thing. I know its gonna be a challenge but I have more time than money.

I've got the same thought/project on my back burner. I picked up a spare backseat last year for the project. I was going to try the disolved foam fiberglass method. I've found similar project walk thrus on the net and have a pretty good idea how to get started. Just a matter of jumping in feet first....

I did some fiberglass work in the Navy so I think I can pull it off. If anyone hears of a pan for sale holla.

Thinking about the smuggler

So I may not need my 09 rear seat, what can you offer for it. Smugglers are 800 bucks now so I'm looking to reduce the ouch factor. The 09 is leftover, bought it a few weeks ago and planning to buy russell seat, front only.
