An update for Bruce,

Bruce will be starting the process of fitting a new arm in the next week or two. Things are moving along well now and he is getting out of the center for day trips and dinner now and then.

It will still be sometime before they start on fitting a new leg.

There is a benefit for him 9-10 to help with the ADA changes to the house.

Things are looking up and it wouldn't be long before he is home again for good. Thank You all for your prayers and good thoughts.

Bruce was at the benefit today and looked, all considered, pretty dang good. And he attitude was also pretty dang good.

Roadtrip, Leo, is part of the reason Bruce's attitude is so good. Leo has been there for Bruce ever step of the way. And Leo understands what Bruce is going through because he went through the same thing years ago when he lost a leg. Your a good man Leo, thanks.

Bruce has good insurance but it only goes so far. There are ramps to be build, doors to be widened and the list goes on.

I have to give a big round of applause to the pirate [Harley Davidson] community. They have stepped up with a poker ride with 80% of the money going to Bruce. Then the riders with the winning hands donated that to the cause.

When I left they were still auctioning off things that had been donated and getting darn good money for each and every one.

I bid on and won on a cool setup with 5 bottles of good booze. I paid for it and then gave it back to them to sell it again.

Guess we won't read about this or hear about this on the news but we should.

Bruce is fitted and trying to get use to his new leg. I think the arm will come later.

The guy has on good attitude and just impresses the heck out of me.

Leo, one of our Pacific Northwet FJR forum members, has been moral support for Bruce from crash day one. Leo went though it years ago and has been helping Bruce through all of the bad and good times. For a man with a handicap motorcycle license plate, Leo is pretty quick.

Also have to give a shout out to the Harley folks. They raised lots of cash and help with building ramps and all sorts of good stuff.

Bruce is doing well, maybe a little too well. He worked up a sore on the end of his leg where it meets the new leg and had to back off for awhile.

He is a funny man. Before I could say any thing to him he said, "I know, know both you and Leo told me to go slow with the new leg but it's just not in my nature."

Attitude is a big part of healing and he has a good one.

Hope he listen's to you and Leo, those sore's can get infected and the healing can take a long time.
