We all have our God given talents Walt. I've done that stuff on Airplanes since I was a kid. Got real good at it. I now wish I'd learned all that computer stuff you guys do. Go Figure.

It's easier than you think. You either reset their password, check the plug connections, or tell them to reboot. That covers about 98% of all computer issues.

Don't tell anyone I told you that!

Looks amazing - DT30 does awesome work; OEM doesn't look that good and doesn't fit that well. His 9.1 gallon Gen I tank fits my 05 incredibly well and still allows for complete handle bar turning.

Hey Wing , after a year ,I finally built myself another for my FJR .buffing tonight and will mount this weekend. right at 9 gallons .will post a couple of pics later. I went with the "YAMAHA" decals instead of the tuning fork badge .looks awesome. No one will mistake this one for a Beemer. Thanks for the kind words ....again

Alright, whoever owns this bike needs to seek out a professional photographer to get some nice all around shots of this work of art.

Ditto to what Jason said..! Just curious DT30, does your full tank effect the weight and balance of the bike? Our FJRs aren't the lightest of girls as it is, just curious what another 30-40 lbs up high will do to the handling?

Again, that is a SeXy looking work of art, it actually looks so good on the bike I prefer it over the factory tank. For real, you could sell those suckers for $1,200 a pop +shipping no problem. I paid over $1K for my dual heated RDL seat, if you really ride enough long distances that extra 3+ gallons would be worth not struggling to find fuel in remote areas. :)

Great work sir, as said before I envy your skillset!

I wonder what the final$$ will be?
Hey Dcarver that 10 gallon tank was 1300$ +100$ for the donor tank(ebay)+ 45$ (approx.)= 1450.00 to his door (in Pickerington Ohio,AMA headquarters) and I threw in the base coat clear coat paint for free because I had some black to use up and it was Christmas!

But wait, there's more. Here is my new 9 gallon tank that I just made for myself. I decided to use the Yamaha decal instead of the tank badge.

The 10 gallon can probably be seen at the AMA headquarters or at the IBA party in Jacksonville Florida coming up around Bikeweek. Or holler at RIDINGGUY for better pics

I am doing a Gen1 that will be for sale if the 1st guy don't want it . It will only be about 8 to 8 1/4 gal.,because it is just a extra I had on the shelf and I am not going to raise the center up. I am going to raise it up at the bottom of the sides 1 1/2", and put a small hump on the back ,and raise the vent holes. It will go welded and tested, with new owner doing the sealing, body and paint work. for 850.00 +shipping. If it is not wanted by the party that has spoken to me about it Then It will be in the classified when I get it done, and I will post up that it is there if it gets that far.

Not a professional, but here are some close ups of the tank he did for me. 9.6 gallons DT30 does great work.

Thanks guys, It looks like if any special considerations for the heliclamp are needed they may be in the front edge. I have some pics to get to DT30 and we shall see if I am an eligible candidate.

edit: its a go!

I will be joining the ranks of those who pass gas stations and still have a rear seat ;)
