I have one electronic farkle that requires a 12V power source. I believe I could pull it from the extra one left from the horn blaster wiring harness kit. I also would consider installing a power source such as a lighter type plug in, or the 12V power strip farkle:

Advice? Power Strip? Plug? Both?

Oh...the farkle is an Air Man pump. I don't plan on too many electronic farkles if that has a bearing on the decision. It seems the power strip would give me more than enough for ever, which can be nice.

Don't ask me............. I'd tell you to install 2 fuse blocks (Switched & Unswitched), 3 powerlets, ................... :p :p :p :p

Before I added sockets to plug into, I just had a fused SAE lead coming directly off the battery and kept it tucked under the right side between the fairing and frame. I soldered an SAE connector on the air pump. That way you can use the connector for your battery tender or, in an emergency, the air pump. You can get the connectors at the hardware store for a couple of bucks....look near the trailer harnesses and accessories.

I have a switched fuse block under the front fairing and under the seat as well as a weatherproof switched power socket in the right front fairing panel. The only ones I really use are the socket to plug in goodies in my tank bag and the underseat to power my autocom. I like the SAE idea coming off the battery and hid discretely when not in use. That'd be an easy start that could be used later if you find you need more (you can always run your SAE connector off of your future switched source or just leave it hidden).

That SAE solution sounds good to me too. I think I'll go shopping ;)

Rogue, something tells me that you have a bit more need for electric power than I do...I don't know what it is

That AirMan can draw 12-13 amps- aside from a set of Gerbings, it's the heaviest draw you're likely to place on your electrical system as far as farkles go- so you're gonna need some decent wire. The SAE's come with 12 Ga typically- and that's enough for what you're trying to do as long as you don't run it back and forth to the tail light two or three times!~

You could probably get a lot more versatility if you wired from the battery to a cig lighter socket with some 10 or 12 Ga and a 30 amp inline fuse- then just remember to unplug anything if you're going to leave the bike for any length of time. You could mount that in one of the dash panels for a finished look- or to a clip that's out of sight until you need it. I am running my Blue Sea fuse panel inside my tankbag and powering with an SAE connector (thru the wall of the bag) to the cig socket on the dash. One plug, and everything attached to the Blue Sea has power- Autocom, GMRS, Radar and GPS. One thing about the FJR- the battery terminals use those funky little "nuts" that become hard to capture when you get more than one additional ring terminal on there.
