Gramps, pls be assured that my blogsite is free of any malicious content.

I believe that your secuirity software may be a little too sensitive.

My purpose of posting is to share my experiences with anyone who wishes to have a great riding experience in south east asia.

You quite possibly may be correct & I don't doubt your intent, but I've been at the receiving end of unintentional malicious content one too many times so I may be overly cautious.

Glad to have you aboard & I do love hearing & seeing about Asia.

Absolutely Fantastic Henry!

I taught American students (now retired from teaching) in Thailand for a period of seven years from 1997 until 2005. Our Asia study group would often board a tour bus or a sleeper train and we faculty would guide on trips throughout Thailand from Pattani in the South to Chaing Rai in the North, sometimes to the east to Korat. I often (on my own holidays) would rent a motorcycle (usually a 175 cc or a 400 cc) and go exploring on my own. The areas near Kanchanaburi, Chiang Mai, and Nong Khai were where I explored the most by 2 wheels. I think the only thing you didn't do on your trip by FJR was go snorkeling in the Gulf of Thailand (Lol).

You captured in digital images much of what I have in 35mm slide form. The memories of the places you travelled have many similarities to my own experiences, but you did it by FJR 1300 = WOW! The food, the scenery, the climate, the people, the language, the exotic scents, textures, and colors of South East Asia are all keen portions of my life's experience. My personal favorite was the study of contrasts/similarities of my western background and Buddhism.

Again, great report and thanks for posting it. I hope to do something similar to what you did by MC some day.

Sawasdee, Khunajawdge

Very nice travel blog Mr Henry. Thank you so much for sharing your ride with us. It sure looks like something that would be a life achievement for any of us. You both certainly seemed to have enjoyed it immensely, which is a big part of the photographic appeal.

The temples in Thailand are just so majestic and impressive. And the rural countryside is so unlike anything we have here to compare to.

For those concerned, I had no virus alerts on MrHenry's blog site. I think it is is probably safe enough to explore .

Khunajawdge,

Thailand surely is a land of amazing sceneries.

And I didn't do any snorkeling for this trip as I already did it on my last couple of rides to Phuket & Koh Samui.

Thanks for your wonderful comments, do hope that you are able to do another ride here is South East Asia ie... Thailand, Malaysia, Laos & Cambodia.

It sure was an adventure of a lifetime for me doing this ride!

Henry, that is one outstanding ride report. I could only dream to do what you have done, being able to take one of the best touring bike down SouthEast Asia, WOW.

Thank you for sharing and I hope to make that same trip someday :)

Excellent report... your food **** pictures made me hungry while I was reading. sights I would not see while riding and I even enjoy your language.... "wheel roll at 830"... very descriptive .. I will be waiting for more trip reports in the future...

Very nice RR. I missed it till just now, glad I took a little time to read and look through the pictures.

It seems you are using a Nikon. Is that correct? :)
