Sorry to hear that....There was indeed a gaggle of Harleys on Lolo, Bear Tooth, and Chief Joseph; actually all the high passes had H-D's on them.

Wheatie, You have never seen so dramatic a spectacle as watching Skooty and AJ-HRZ strafe a pack of gaggling Harley-D's!Sorry to hear that....There was indeed a gaggle of Harleys on Lolo, Bear Tooth, and Chief Joseph; actually all the high passes had H-D's on them.
I wish I could have done that with my daughter when she was 17. Now she is 25 and never even calls. hwell: If one is your daughter who is the other one, and which one of you is she riding with?
I must have been the other FJR you saw. I did Bear Tooth yesterday and stayed at the quality inn in red lodge and I did see a girl on a blue FJR with Min. plates. I also hit the rain and hail in Yellowstone while I was on that dirt section. Pretty scary riding on the slick dirt on the FJR. That is one awesome road your daughter rode and you should be proud of her.Have seen only ONE other FJR in over 1000 miles of riding. seems like the harleys outnumber all other bikes put together by 20 to 1.
Trip going well. you never really know how a kid is going to do until you let them try .......

With her load exhaust, Skoots would scare the shit out of poor unsuspecting H-D riders with Dirty Old Whore, then Senor Nuevo Mexico as Skoot's wingman would come slicing past at Mach One; I was flying cover to this formation, so I got the one finger salute from the Harley jockeys!
both are my daughter/ blue leather is FJR rider, other is only 15 and not interested in riding her own (so far, anyway)

Amen to that. Glad you are getting to experince that with your daughters. I hope to do that with my sons someday...... you never really know how a kid is going to do until you let them try .......
I have no doubt that you will. :bike:I hope to do that with my sons someday.
I will also be carrying a laptop. We are spending the night before on a ranch outside of Big Timber so we should be able to get a pretty good read on the weather. Thanks for the tip. Karen will be riding a Honda Shadow so we will be taking it pretty easy. If the pass is at all compromised we will go around it and take the Cody road into Yellowstone... Again, congratulations on such a spectacular trip... RichDr. Rich;
you might want to check the weather before taking the pass if your daughter is a relative rookie like mine. we talked to some riders that crossed the day before we did and they had gusting rain and hail to deal with.
I used a laptop in the hotel to check local radar and we had great weather.
