1990 Kawi ZX7 with skipping second gear

Question to you mechanicle wizzards . I know it`s been beat on & probably drag raced. But what most likely went bad . When you ride the bike normally it goes thru the gears fine but when you put a little meat to it, it skips , but only in second gear. Could it be a bent shift fork or worse.

Thanks for the link , & will investagate this , as the guy wants to trade me this ZX7 for my 83 Goldwing (with a really bad paint job) :angry:
