Opportunity to buy the little Beemer this weekend. Bike has 7500 miles and is pristine. BMW discontinued this model in '04 however it is popular and a classic unit. Anyone have roadtime on this model? B)

How much are they asking for it Cheney? Always thought that was a pretty cool looking bike.....Just remember, you can never have to many motorcycles...

Axeman, The scooter in question is loaded, full chrome and leather bags; a light blue in color with a new Corbin seat (seller still has original seat with fold up backrest) Asking $7300. but sounds motivated, I will hazard a guess that I could drive it away for $6500.... oh yeah, recent service and new tires! :detect:

I always thought the BMW twin was a natural for the cruiser chassis. This is a unique cruiser that works very well.

While it sold well for BMW the first year, it ended up being a dog for BMW and they are a tough sell on the used market. Drive a hard bargain and don't expect very good resale if you don't keep it for several years. At first glance, this sounds like a good deal.

Cheney,

I owned a 1998 R1200C for 3 years. Fun bike and amazingly nimble, also on the twisties.

Being one of the first made, the bike had still some FI problems at low speeds.

Otherwise a great machine that managed the unique feat of being dissed by both the cruiser crowd and the true-blue BMW fans. ;)

Money and garage space allowing I'd buy it back. As Markjenn says, you can drive a hard bargain.

Stef
