2004 FJR Break In OIl

I tried a couple of of Forum searches....here goes.

I just bought a 2004 w 8,500 miles. Im having all fuilds change - This first change is with Dino Oil.

Under normal course of events..when do you switch to Synthetic? Under these circumstance of low miles and 8 years old, when would you change over to synthetic?

I wouldn't but If it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy then go for it at any time. The bike doesn't care.

You will get opinions from all sides but if you use good oil and change it on a regular basis you will not have any kind of problem related to lubrication.

Now's fine. I swapped in full syth at 6k miles on my new FJR. I swapped in full synth on used bikes I've bought with 72K miles and more.

have used dino, synth, dino in my '04

Since you're going to Synth, I'd do it in ~1000 miles/first longish trip after this current dino oil change.

... don't ask me for a rationale; just get to the oil that you intend to use.
