I was not asking for a link to an "illegal site" for an online PDF doc. for free. I am willing to pay for a service manual but just not the $100 the yamaha dealer is asking. That is rediculous. I realize a lot of time and effort has gone in to making these but come on....are you kidding me? How many do you have to sell at $100 to make a profit?

After doing some searching, it appears that Clymbers, Haynes ect. does not print anything for this bike. Since those are sold in cycle shops, I highly doubt they are "illegal."

My guess is there are sites out there that you can get excellent service manuals for $50 or less online but nobody wants to talk about them because they may ( ? ) violate copyright laws right? OK. I see how it is.

I won't ask anymore here.

Ignacio,

I don't see 9 rules in this forum, only 2 if you look in the "Terms and Rules" section.

2005 manual on E-bay at the moment for $45.00 I would suggest buying it. A question for all of you
"Rule Happy SOB's" do you ever exceed the speed limit ??? Bunch of whiney assed old men.

I really am not trying to piss anybody off. Just being practical.

Wow...you just don't seem to be getting the point, do you.

We don't care if you BUY illegally copied Yamaha FSMs (Factory Service Manuals).

We don't care if you MAKE illegally copied Yamaha FSMs.

We don't care if you SELL illegally copied Yamaha FSMs.

We don't care if you continue to Sandusky your neighbor's kids.

Just pay attention to the Board Owner's request and don't talk about it on the forum.

"Promoting piracy or referencing spurious manuals that are too cheap to be legal on eBay or other websites is not allowed."

Is that too difficult to understand and comply with? And try to come up with a better analogy for copyright infringement besides "exceed(ing) the speed limit".

More clueless newbie bullshit.....sigh.

The reality is this forum has done more to resolve issues on the FJR (e.g. tickers) than you'll ever know. Yamaha does monitor and listen to folks on this forum and we're going to aim to keep it that way.

Poking Yamaha in the eye by ripping off their (albeit stiffly-priced) service manual does this forurm and FJR owner no favors. No. We're going to keep the positive relationship going and expect if people are going to do the equivalent of "speeding"....to do it on their own time and not use the forum to facilitate it.

And you poking admins in the eye does you no favors either....regardless of whether then you try and pass it off as not trying to piss anybody off.

This thread has long outlived its usefulness. Thread closed. :(

P.S. Learn how to quote and put your text outside mine when you do it. Fixed it for you...you're welcome. :)

P.S.S. Thanks RadioHowie. You're a credit to the whiney assed old men set. ;)
