I didn't even look, but my comment is that the V-Strom handguards a' la FJR Tech work really well, and I have the older iteration from 2 years ago.

Interesting, they've got something called city sidecases, that look like the lid is flatter (doesn't stick out as much maybe?) and come in black....

Hmmmmm $204 for two large wedges of plastic that clip onto the mirrors... :blink:

Can't imagine these protecting your hands anywhere near as well as the V-Strom Hand Guards, not too mention the V-Strom Hand Guards cost only 1/4 of that Yamaha UK price...

The City cases are interesting. BMW offers City lids for some of their cases to narrow 'em up just like this. Every inch counts when splitting but our mirrors are still a bit wide.

Yeah, but thankfully they fold back when you hit something (or somebody) when lane splitting going into Laguna Seca GP track last July :haha:

I have to say that the '06 foot shields are a big improvement in looks department.

Its always amazed me that the rice-burning manufacturers have never learned to follow the Harley and BMW business model. I mean, H-D and Bimmer sell a bunch of pricey accessories and make some major $$$$ doing it.

Good to see Yamaha finally getting some BASIC accessories going. But WTF? Why not selling this stuff in the U.S.? I mean, just look at how much freaking dinero we throw at farkling our babys. I shudder to think of the total cost of all my farkles.

I too noticed the purty foot guards, raised my eyebrows at the sliders (about time), and was a bit disappointed at the old technology Garmin GPS they are selling.

Interesting none-the-less.

Hey you guys! You don't know what it means to me, to have been able to submit a topic of interest here on the site. I'm a newbie rider from July 2005. My first bike was and still is the suzuki boulevard c50 cruiser. I have researched my next bike (FJR1300A) with a passion and ordered one back in Oct. It should be coming in April. I will be attaching an IWAY 500c (GPS) to it and will hope it works as the manufacturer said it would. I'm not sure if I will use the ram mount but, it seems Lowrance reccomends it. If the stem mount has less vibration and fits the new bike, I will go with that. Sorry for the rambling here. Once again, happy to have found a useful piece of info for you guys. I hope to meet up with some of you FJR guys after I get my bike. I will need all the info I can get. To the other waiters out there.....hang in there guys...be strong!!!

I'd rather do my own shopping. Most dealers would jack the price of farkles another 10-25%, then charge you $80 per hour to install it.

I know BMW makes something like it for their bikes.

Anyone know where I can get something similar for the FJR?

I'd love to retrofit my '05 with that new glove box that the '06s have.

Or does anyone know where one can get that power plug here in the USA...

Vinne, search for Powerlet on this site. THere are a few different options available. I went with the single outlet and put it on the top righ near the battery. I went to AutoZone and bought a simple 3-way car charger splitter and run my gps, fuzz buster and ipod from the powerlet adapter.

I too have this plug, except mine is in the left side pannel and not the right as shown. Since I always get off the bike on the left, why would I want my power cord plugging in on the right? If you decide to go on the left side, they have a kit just like the one pictured, it just has a longer wiring loom. This kit is about a 2 hour install.

Powerlet products can basically be installed wherever there is room for them.

IMO the glovebox power plug on the '06 is not the most thought out location.
